Best beach holidays Europe

Lots of threads the past few weeks/months on good locations/bad locations etc.

I want to book a 4/5 night break for 10th wedding anniversary. Needs to be Europe and short break. I want it to be luxury and beautiful but not so it would break the bank.

Hit me with your EU beach recommendations and also places to avoid.

Will be leaving kids at home. We like good food, nice views and a bit of snorkel!

We have stayed at le serignan plage camp. We had a great week although it was 9 years ago. We love this area of France. We are returning to the Costa Brava this year close to Begur as lovely beaches and the further away from Barcelona the more Spanish it is.

Depends if you want sand or not. I love Croatia, but there are very few sandy beaches.

A friend of mine's in La Gomera at the moment posting pictures and I'm jealous as anything. Never been there, but it looks wonderful.

I rate the Greek islands. Basically, take your pick. There are some lovely reasonably priced hotels on some of them. I would go for Alonissos as a nice, quiet place and very, very beautiful, or its slightly busier neighbour Skopelos. Lovely beaches on both.

St Aygulf or Ste Maxime on the Côte d'Azur.

In fact anywhere on the Côte d'Azur.

I like the look of Sardinia. Might go for that.
