To think it'll be weeks before we see the Sue Gray report if ever

Chances are the Met Police will take ages to investigate this. So being told to wait for the Sue Gray report was more bullshit wasn't it.

People investigating their bosses - SG and the Met - what could go wrong there?

Presumably this is why the police turned a blind eye at the time and going forward. Also since SG submits her report to BJ, he will bin it.

Carrienova · 25/01/2022 14:36

Patel said she would call the police on her neighbours if they had too many people socialising the garden. But she didn't call the police on BJ. And the police report to her ultimately, so it's going to take a brave police force to risk funding/promotion/jobs. I don't think the Met/police are brave enough. Stick to countryside car parks, people getting fresh air and exercise.

@the80sweregreat

I've just seen a bit of today's briefings in parliament about the Ukraine situation. Boris Johnson seems very bullish and confident and seems to know his facts and figures quite well ; it's not the performance of a man who feels that he might be moving on anytime soon. Maybe talking about a possible war , NATO and people wanting to take back land is much more up his street? Plus it's a huge distraction from police inquiries and parties too. It is also worrying too of course :( Scary times,
But... the looming war in Ukraine is exactly the sort of thing that the Prime Minister should be concentrating on. So should the opposition, for that matter.

The "parties" are irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Our leaders think the rules they set don't apply to them. That's hardly news, leaders have always considered themselves better than the scum they look after, i.e. us.

What matters is the forthcoming war, inflation, trade deals, taxes, social care, pensions, employment, security. Boris Johnson having a birthday cake is pretty low down on the list of things that have happened and will happen.

DoubleShotEspresso · 25/01/2022 14:44

I think with the kind of friends Boris had chosen to surround himself with we will see some pertinent points and findings of the report "leaked"....

Lolamento · 25/01/2022 14:58

@Poetrypatty

Yes, meanwhile we will all be distracted by what Putin is up to, that’s the plan

Hoping for a war to let him off the hook! The selfishness of the man knows no bounds.

You two are so ridiculous! Many countries are worry about this. Grow up a bit.

It's not. It's corruption at the top. A government thinking that laws and rules they make don't apply to them. Draconian laws passed which kept people locked in their homes, by a prime minister who did as he pleased and then who lied to parliament about it afterwards. It couldn't be more serious.

This.

It's a bit odd that the Met were not going to investigate No. 10 events and now they are. Who benefits from this change of plan?

Grantanow · 29/01/2022 18:46

It is quite clear from what various senior Tory MPs have said that the matter is not sub judice and therefore the Met cannot enforce their request for the report to be redacted. The report should be published in full without any omissions immediately. It is in the public interest for it to be published in full and the Met's concerns are disproportionate in my opinion.

Booklover3 · 29/01/2022 19:23

He will get off. No faith in the MET or him
