To ask what you're doing in advance of gas/elec rises in April?

I feel like I wade through treacle when i try to work out how to try and minimise rise of the gas/elec in April.

Can anyone offer a short cut through all the advise and pretty much tell me what I should be doing to cut the impact?

The 200 in October is over 5 years so £40 per year. So £3.33 a month

FanGirlX · 03/02/2022 13:27

Ah right. It's a loan basically.

£200 credit applied to your bill on 1st October 2022. Paid back in monthly instalments over 4 years, so about £3.33 a month.

@LizzieLookAtTheFlowers

We are already paying £245 a month, £1,200 in debit and I cannot even think about it. We are with Bulb. Our gas bill is really low but our electricity bills is through the roof. We cannot figure out what the problem is, and they won't give us a smart meter because previous occupants of the house had one with a different supplier. Why this means they can't give us one I don't know.

An extra 50% will mean we will really struggle. Like, really. That's going to take us to almost £370 a month....

Have you seen Plum’s trust pilot reviews? They’re overcharged so many people.

@LizzieLookAtTheFlowers Sorry, I meant Bulb. Was with them until they started just doubling the bills out of nowhere. They’ve done this to many people.

Are you submitting your actual meter readings to them or are your bills based on estimated readings?

For drying: airer + stove top fan (sit on stove that's hot or on radiator , free to run)

Someone on another group I’m in has posted that whenever possible those with a prepayment meter should put as much as humanly possible now onto that meter so that you can use what you can on the rates before it gets to April. That way you have topped up at a lower rate. I hope that’s helpful to someone.
