Mine is an absolute arsehole. He is a crap parent who screams at his kids day and night, sets fire to tyres in his garden for a 'bonfire' he had the audacity to shout at me about leaving the shared gate open calling me a fat re**rd at full volume. Today he's asked me to take a parcel in for him tomorrow as he's in work. Erm no! You don't get to abuse your neighbour and then have them
Do nice things! I won't be taking in his massive parcel of beer he gets every month

@RasputinsPickledPenis I know but at the time I wrote it I didn't want it to outing, however he escalated tonight to that and I just don't care. I've already reported him to the social services and they're not really bothered. I think we might have to move which makes me feel really shit as I love our village and house

Broke into my house, stole my laptop and my sons piggy bank. Scuzzy little rat.

Kleptronic · 21/01/2022 04:10

Mine have knocked through, tiled everywhere and mounted their television in the middle of the party wall, so helpfully I know exactly what they're watching in both rooms of my house, all day and all night.

One of my neighbours lets her dog outside to bark at 11 am on a Sunday morning. A Sunday is when I have my lie in.

Ours built an extension from hell lasting 4 dreadful years.

They put scaffolding across the entire length of our flat roof and across our garden without bothering to tell us. Came home one day and saw scaffolding right in front of our patio doors, blocking access.

They then cut down our joint tree border and built their extension in place making a huge ugly red wall the new border. Again never told us. They then pulled the same trick with the front of the house taking down our front garden border, again never informed us and moving the border inches across. It was like they were doing a land grab.

I spoke to the Council numerous times, they weren’t interested in the slightest. I later discovered the neighbours had violated a tree preservation order by cutting our tree border but again no action was taken.

When we approached them, they got abusive and they slam the door in our faces. I was so keen to “be nice” that I put up with this for years.

We eventually sold the house, but to this day I wish I’d been tougher and taken their evil backsides to court.

Got a number of crappy neighbours but one is persistently annoying. Thinks he’s the neighbourhood DJ and cranks his (bad) music up all day every day while he lurks out the front of his house beer in hand wearing nothing but very short and tight shorts/undies.

He also thinks he’s an animal whisperer so spends his days harassing the wildlife. One morning he woke us about 5am as he’d “lost a bird” and wanted to check our garden, so let himself in the gate and hunted about for said wild bird thereby setting our dog off.

I can’t garden because the second I do he strolls over and - ignoring the fact I have headphones on to block out his music - hoists his greasy bulk over the fence for a chat. Most of the chats are completely inane, while others take a bizarre turn right out of left field like the time he informed me there are vending machines in Japan so rich businessmen can buy soiled underwear worn by African women. On what planet…

Mine keep themselves to themselves but police are frequent visitors. Even 5am this morning they came to arrest him. Confused

Ours were two women who moved below us with their baby. Almost fr the outset they began to harass us with texts complaining about basic household noise with details of their child’s sleeping schedule and additional details of how very tired they were. I have never met such an entitled, self centred pair. They honestly had no thought for anyone’s needs or circumstances but their own. I have no idea why they chose to live in a basement flat.

We did our best to be accommodating, asking DS to stop playing with a particular toy and even asking DD to get out of bed more quietly in the mornings! However the texts continued and progressed to banging on the door in the morning asking us if we could PLEASE keep the noise down even though we were tiptoeing around by that point!

The final straw was a couple of weeks before we moved out we went away for the weekend and our teenager had some friends over. The younger one, who was an unfortunate combination of not very bright and deeply spiteful, contacted our landlord to complain, regaling him with tales of how dreadfully tired she was, because of course, when you have a baby the world must revolve completely around you and your needs and everyone should tiptoe around in silence. She also claimed we were having karaoke parties late into the night which was just completely untrue - luckily the landlord was on our side!

The absolute irony of it was that throughout this they’d been having work done on their flat. Whining drills and banging all throughout the day and into the weekends, and not a word of apology or acknowledgment from this selfish pair to us or the other neighbours.

I was so happy to leave them behind when we moved. I have never met anyone so self centred and entitled.

Flowersto anyone living with awful neighbours.

@BookGinnyisbetter

I'm not glad other people have shit neighbours but IM glad it's not just me! He's just a nightmare. I hate him so much. We've made a decision tonight to call 999 every time he starts up from now on.
You could stop a real life threatening emergency getting help. You just made this thread unreasonable !
BookGinnyisbetter · 21/01/2022 07:17
