He has designed it with thorns so that if she tries to remove it, it causes pain.

But I take my rings off all the time - when I have a shower, to go swimming, to go running, in bed. So if it was made painful to take them on and off, I would just leave them off.

They are crazy but in a harmless way, as they are just totally infatuated with each other, still in their honeymoon stage, play up to this "gothic couple" role, enjoy the attention, and are having a laugh at all of us to be quite frank. 😂 MGK is one of my favourite artists now that he's gone pop punk. His real name is Colson Baker and he isn't interested in conforming which is partly why he appeals to me. So many of us, as we get into our 30s and further, stifle some of our wants and needs to fit into the society, and worry about what others think and expect. I think we can also become a bit dull and serious because life gets exhausting and we forget or are too tired to have enough fun. He doesn't. He is a dedicated father and works hard. He comes from nothing, tough circumstances in fact, and has achieved amazing success.
He wears and does a lot of things that have shock value, with or without her. Smart. He's certainly being noticed which is why I'm surprised so many people here haven't heard of him. Granted my music taste is a bit different, perhaps. He is too much for some for sure but I absolutely applaud him as he also breaks down gender and genre stereotypes. He knew lying about the ring feature would get them noticed once more, and highlights how they want the intensity of the relationship portrayed ("we are one person, we exchanged blood, etc, etc"), and he wasn't wrong. Behind closed doors they are just humans. Also, the honeymoon stage will end. That being said, they might continue for publicity. And as there's mutual consent and enthusiasm from them for this type of publicity, and until I'm proven that there isn't, I say let them crack on. He's made his best music since he's met her too.
