To think that if someone had posted this here, they’d have been told their child must be lying

story

To be fair it is almost unbelievable.

Unfortunately I can very easily believe this story as my dd had a teacher just as nasty and crap as this one. I spent months dealing with her, the head teacher and education department (in Scotland) in the end the Ed department admitted she was useless and moved my dd to a much better school but didn't sack the teacher until she broke a child's arm 3 months later

@IrisPrimrose

Ah, so you don’t believe this story? You think the children were lying?

Of course you know it is true. I am well aware of the Mail’s shortcomings but these are shared by the British media in general. That contemptuous ‘people like you’ is ridiculous. People like me who - what, read a story and thought ‘blimey’?

Generally speaking though, it’s wise to read widely. As a rule, and I’m actually not aiming this at you personally, but I think most of the 'I hate the Daily Mail posturing is less about actually being a good person (which you can be regardless of your choice of newspaper) and more about adopting a stance that's supposed to show the world how virtuous you are. One value system does not automatically trump another and I will repeat my earlier point that I will remind people revolted by the very look of the paper how good it was at bringing Stephen Lawrence’s killers to justice.

However all this is mildly stupid given I only shared the link as it wasn’t behind a fucking paywall! Grin

I agree with reading widely. If there is a story about the government I'll read it in the telegraph and then read the same in the guardian and the "truth" is somewhere in between I find. 🤣

The etiquette is to let people know what the link is, summerise the content and allow people to comment. Dodgy, hidden link with a click-baity comment is not good etiquette. I wouldn't click without other posters telling me what it is.

However, the Mail is a mixed bag. Sometimes they do journalism, and sometimes they do shite. Just like the bloody Guardian right now. Read widely everyone and make up your own minds.

I agree. No one should be clicking on links if they don't know what they are.

When ds1 started school they suggested that all reception dc had a spare pair of underwear just in case of accidents. They also kept pe kit in school all week so the underwear just stayed in that bag. A really easy way to help a young child in a new environment and help them keep their dignity.

I meant that as opposed to children in nursery - that school age children would change clothes themselves rather than have the teacher do it.
(Of course having available something to change into, completely understand that.)

Agree - I'm not clicking on a disguised random link, afterall it might be the Daily Fail

If anyone's interested, and rather than relying on the Mail, the full record of the hearing is here:
