Hi mn,
I am just looking for advice on whether to move areas completely and to where.

Background: moved to the UK almost a year ago. We are from a country that starts education at 7 and we're extremely fortunate to get into a prep school that is very highly sought after. My dd is a very shy and anxious child, introverted and this school has been exceptional for her.

My concern is, as we have gotten to know the area and schools around here I just dont think this is the place for us. We are bound to the area (North West London) till she finishes at the Prep but are so undecided as to where to move to next. We do not know London verywell.

There's a few things that just doesn'tsit well with us. We are living in a very affluent area, and I feel that just filters down to everything - schools, kids, parents, etc. DD friends are alot about where they are flying to every half term, the parents seem to manage the friendships accordingly and also with the smarter kids in class, children comparing what they have etc. On the surface, everyone is superficially nice but this is what is happening behind that.We have now met with a few friends whose kids are older and go to a few of the very competitive schools around here, and we just don'tlike what we see.

DH and I come from a very underdevelopedcountry and a very simple background. We want to give our dd and dc on the way, a very good education but not at the cost of them becoming entitled and end up chasing a lifestyle.

We have a year to research, but I just have a feeling we need to move out of the area.A huge positivefor the schools are that they are extremely diverse and that is a priority for us.
Any advice on where we could start looking? This is very important to us. Please no judgement, but we are only considering independent schooling with diversity.

I apologiseif I did not come across well, English is my second language. I also hope that I have not generalizedand placed judgmenton an entire area. These are just my feelings and observations. Any help will be appreciated.
