Sorry, I don’t know how to insert a link

How is this even possible in this day and age?

I’ve just seen someone say it in yet another thread - they post about something, someone asks for a link, and they come back with this response.

God knows I am no tech whizz, but how can an adult in 2022 not know how to copy a link and paste it into their post…? Confused

Do they think it is something way more complicated than copy and paste, and if so, why?

I have no idea how to post links. I also don't know how to copy and paste,

I am not lazy or thick, just it's never been necessary for me to know how to do any of them.

I have no idea on how to get multiple tabs open on my tablet so I don't do c and p as I would never find the relevant thread again. I can open multiple tabs and windows on my laptop though. Both use chrome, only one uses rightclick ability.

Whatever happened to the bat, that was rickrolling before it was invented Grin

Lougle. Thank you so much I've wondered how you did that sort of link!

TeachesOfPeaches · 16/01/2022 21:22

Same as when people put F in threads or post 'place marking'. You can use the 'watch thread' function instead.

Reading this on a tablet. No idea how to copy and paste on the bloody thing. Nor on my phone. So this is a useful thread. Thanks.

@HalloHello

I actually think it's worse that people ask for a link rather than just googling it.

Someone started a thread asking for advice on making baby bottles of formula and someone mentioned perfect prep. The OP quoted the post and asked what perfect prep was 🤦why not just Google it??

I’d agree with you in general but would give that particular OP a pass because I was so sleep deprived when DS was tiny that I could barely find my arse with both hands.

If you use Chrome, press the three dots at the top right and the menu should have open new tab. Or press and hold any thread title, then press 'open in new tab'

What annoys me more is people on places like NextDoor saying things like ‘what time does Tesco open?’ Clearly they’ve got the internet if they’re on NextDoor so why not take the next logical step and Google it 😤

Pixiedust1234 · 16/01/2022 22:01

I don't have most of the options listed. I can only copy one word, not a title and neither show new tab. But thanks anyway Smile

@LondonQueen

I think a lot of people are lazy rather than stupid.
But there are other reasons apart from laziness and stupidity that result in people not knowing how to do things, you must know that?
