Effing DP... AIBU to get revenge? If so...what?

I had to get up very, very early this morning - very dark and very cold outside. I needed to defrost my car windows using warm water but because it was dark I didn't immediately notice the driver's side window was completely wound down. Water went all over driver's seat which I had to then sit on to drive to work - didn't have time to run back indoors to get a towel or something to sit on.
DP was the last one to use the car yesterday afternoon so he must have failed to shut the window. He moans if I leave windows slightly open during summer, parked for ten mins in a supermarket car park [sceptical].
So wise MNers - revenge or just soak it up? Knickers have only just dried out Blush

Some lovely suggestions; thank you.

In my defence (slightly!) it was very dark and no, not at all obvious the window was down. Lucky the local burglars or cats hadn't spotted it either really.
I always use just-warm water, never hot.

And I didn't know how much water had soaked into the seat before I jumped in, and really, really didn't have to go back in the house. Besides which it might have disturbed DP from his lovely warm snuggly slumber in bed Envy.

See the other thread about evil grapefruits! Really funny!Grin

How is it possible not to notice missing window, when the others are covered in ice? You risk DP ridiculing you for this. There is no way he will see this as his fault.

MorningStarling · 13/01/2022 15:03

I know this isn't the main issue but who the hell is driving around with the window wide open in January?

I know the OP could live anywhere but the fact she has to deice the car suggests it's pretty cold.

Well surely this would be suitable revenge?!

You really are asking for it to freeze over again.

Use de-icer.

And get a Ford. Their heated front windscreen is fantastic.

No streetlights where I live and therefore no helpful reflections on the driver's side windows although I could just see there was ice on the passenger side. I briefly touched the glass to see how icy it was which was why I was chucking water over all the windows to ensure they were clear. But you are probably right, he won't think it's his fault at all.

I desperately miss my Ford when it's frosty. 'D'H made fun of my frost shield yesterday and told me to buy a 'modern' car. Like his, which has an app setting that warms it up 15 minutes before you go to work Envy

Definitely revenge OP.

FatsAndFurious · 13/01/2022 15:26

Yes.. I shall ask DP for a new Ford with heated windscreen as compensation Grin

Put a kipper in the bottom of his work bag.
Crumbs in his socks.
Turn the volume up massively on the tv then shut it off ready for him to turn on.
Put some body scrub in his freshly run bath.

maddening · 13/01/2022 15:45

Put all his underpants in the bath tonight and fill with water.

FatsAndFurious · 13/01/2022 16:44

So.. I've got home and he says he must have accidentally pushed the button to open the window when he got out of the car and didn't notice. Riiiiight 🤔🙄. He has apologised though ☺️

If you are cooking, serve yourself a noticeably larger dinner 😂

HugeAckmansWife · 13/01/2022 16:53

my car very occasionally shorts and opens all the windows when I lock or unlock it - its just a glitch. Is it possible that happened? Also, how far is your car from the house that you couldn't grab a waterproof coat or a bin bag or a plastic bag to sit on?

FatsAndFurious · 13/01/2022 16:53

Definitely going for the grapefruit in the bath Wink

OP posts:
FatsAndFurious · 13/01/2022 17:00

Hope it wasn't a glitch, it's just had a service and MOT which cost enough! But I shall from now on make sure I check the windows more thoroughly before chucking water around and give myself even more time and carry various bags/towels/spare knickers in the car Grin

@EbonanzaScrooge

Gently unstitch the crotch area of his trousers so when he bends down they burst
Haaaaaaaaaaaaa
MistressWeatherwax1 · 13/01/2022 21:46

I'd be tempted to pour a glass of water on his side of the mattress just before he's due to go to bed but I'm quite petty when my OH annoys me.
