Just that really. In both our jobs we havent had a payrise in a while as both of us work in niche jobs but without massive pay increases. All this talk of energy prices going up and everything else becoming a lot more expensive is really getting to me. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for how you've tried to save money or adjust your finances this year. We are not poor and are both in professional jobs but we also live in London with two small kids, a big mortgage and things are getting tighter and tighter.

We will personally be ok but I know plenty will struggle. Some of my younger relatives just starting out on life such as my great niece who is about to graduate will have a tougher time. But she is healthy, about to graduate, has no children and can live in shared housing. I think families will struggle especially ones who are already on a low income.

Yes, we might manage but the additional energy bills will basically mean we have to cut lots of things out.b

It is especially hard for those on one income. I am determined to live within my means but it will probably mean no new clothes and very few or no treats. Although I dont need any clothes it is nice to have something to look forward to.

I am rejoining the local library to have books to read. I cannot afford charity shop books any longer and most are not my kind of literature.
