How strict are centre parks on the minimum age limits? Do you have to prove anything? My son is a big 12 and loves a spa. Or AIBU?

What's the age limit for the spa noe? As far I know it was 14 or 15 but most of the guests tend to be over 18? A lot of people go to a spa to get away from younger kids/younger teens for a few hours, I certainly do. It would make me a little less relaxed to see a child there, even a big 12yo, as I'd be wondering if they're going to start acting up or being noisy when/if they get bored. I wouldn't complain to the staff because I don't want to be that person but others probably would and you'd have to be prepared for the very real possibility that you'd be asked to leave.

Don't make people sit in the Spa with a 12 year old if that's under the age limit, it's not fair.
Also I assume there's insurance implications for CP. Do you not have to put children's ages down when you book the holiday?

What's the age limit for the spa?

It's probably there to protect both parties (e.g not having children in an adult space / allowing adults to relax without children!).

At my members spa I've had to mention to a lifeguard a woman who brought her child into a sauna once, and she was a bit annoyed - personally I don't pay £££ to be sat across from a ten year old asking his mum silly questions when the age limit is 16!

At aqua sana at Elveden it's 14 and they are firm on it.

Inwiththenew · 10/01/2022 11:17

The age minimum is 14. Thanks for your answers I’ll not try to sneak him in. There’s plenty of stuff that I’m sure he’ll like doing anyway.

As I parent to children this age and someone that regularly uses the spas at Centre Parcs, you shouldn’t do this. X

TempName01 · 10/01/2022 12:00

They will have his date of birth so I don’t think you can get around this

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 10/01/2022 12:23

Center Parcs are very strict on age limits all around, for insurance reasons.

I don’t think a 12 yo should be in the spa there either - people are there to enjoy the adult (yes with older teens there, I accept) space. 14 can be a lot more grown up than 12.

Unfortunately for me, just as Dd Will turn 14 this year and be able to come to the spa, Ds will turn 8 and be too old for the academies (unsupervised activities which double as childcare for the spa).

I use Aqua Sana frequently and I'd be royally pissed off to find a 12 year old in there. It's my relaxing adult time.

Sorry op. Can’t help on the question I’ve never been to

My son loves a hot tub and massage so would love a spa im sure. he’s 13 so just getting into the age he can potential go. The only ones I’ve found are ones that do “mother and daughter” packages with painted toes etc.

Inwiththenew · 11/01/2022 10:40

My son has been brought up abroad and mainly was allowed into spas as long as supervised. Am still getting used to the differences here where child and adult activities are very separate.
