Nhunter - mortgage broker sent wrong payslips

I don’t know if anybody has any experience of this and I’m posting here for traffic. My mortgage adviser sent somebody else his payslips to a high Street Bank in application for a mortgage, they have obviously flagged them with this database NHunter which appears to be owned by experian. I have repeatedly written to the bank and ask them to rectify this mistake sending my correct wage slips in to prove that I have no reason to lie or try and pull the wool over their eyes I was earning more than enough to be able to qualify for this mortgage, they point-blank refuse to rectify the situation and NHunter claim they are just a data handler and therefore they can do nothing.
Has anybody successfully fought these people ?
I’ve been told in no uncertain terms that I have no chance of getting a mortgage whilst this information of alleged fraud is on a database.

And nor will anybody tell me how long this information remains on the database

If you don’t mind your name and picture being splashed in the paper, and you are definitely sure this is because of a wrong payslip issue, then I would go to the media and the ombudsman (following others advice to follow the correct procedures around complaints).

Is the broker independent or work under a network?

They should have provided you with literature on who to contact if they are not able to resolve your issue.

If she’s under a network they do take this sort of stuff very seriously.

The broker should also be able to call their relationship manager at the lender and resolve easily.

I’m sorry you’ve had this much trouble.

The power of Mumsnet you lot are absolutely marvellous so I went back through my original fact find for this mortgage and discovered that actually I should never have been put forward for it anyway because I didn’t meet the criteria.

I put in official complaint to the broker outlining everything that they have cost me including the stamp duty holiday additional rent that I’ve had to pay to lots of removal costs.

Not to mention the amount of stress and mental health impact that having to find rental properties at short notice whilst working full time and move house twice and put my stuff into storage has caused.

I’m literally just documenting all this in case it ever comes up in a search and helps anybody else all update as to how I get on in terms of this complaint being upheld but yes thank you all for giving me the confidence to speak out.

Are the brokers directly authorised, or do they use a lending partner? If they a lending partner (like legal and general / HLP) go to them. You will get dealt with a lot better and they will be sternly dealt with by the lending partner. If directly authorised go FCA, but it’s a slower process. Do you have a mortgage illustration they did for you? It will say on there.

I’ve got the mortgage illustration and the fact find so I flagged it with her directly to begin with to give her the opportunity to resolve it once more. I guess my worry years I can’t buy a house in the meantime so the quicker it gets sorted the better and the other poster mentioned that the FCA are snowed under at the moment.
