Rash on neck

DK123 · 07/01/2022 16:08

Posting in aibu for traffic!
Today I've woken up with a rash on my neck, cheeks, chest, upper arms and a bit on my body.
I don't think it's a heat rash or can be.
Has anyone got any idea what this could possibly be?

I'm attaching a lovely photo of my neck

A rash randomly appearing before covid seems to be a thing, even with negative lft- then positive a few days later. Could you have been in close contact with anyone with covid?
Wishing you well.

I've just done a quick Google & images shared by Zoe of a covid rash do say it can be itchy & can look like yours.

x2boys · 07/01/2022 16:46

My son has a similar rash when he had COVID the first time, not the second time.

bakermummy21 · 07/01/2022 16:53

It looks like eczema. Does it itch?

DK123 · 07/01/2022 17:08

It feels hot to the touch and quite itchy. On my arms it's very lumpy and itchy.
I know Covid can come with a rash now, but it's unlikely I could have caught it as I haven't been out or seen anyone in a couple of weeks because I've been having a lot of trouble with migraines. I know it's still possible in theory though

Not everything is Covid, people. 🙄

It looks to me like some sort of allergic reaction. You say you have been struggling with migraines. Have you tried any new medications?

KO81 · 07/01/2022 18:08

If you’re feeling stiff or achy, generally ill or out of sorts, tight chested or the rash covers much of your body, I’d call 111 for advice or to be given a slot with an out of hours doc.

KittenCatcher · 07/01/2022 19:29

If its hot itchy and spreading you should call for medical advice, it could be a number of things that are not covid, have you had any visitors, started new medication.

DK123 · 07/01/2022 19:51

I've not seen anyone in over a couple of weeks so it's not really very possible I've caught something from anyone.
I'm on the same medications I've been on for a long time - I am taking a few but nothing remotely new.
I've thought about it a lot and no new skin products, laundry products, new garments or anything like that which could explain an allergic reaction.
I'm a bit out of ideas as I'd have said either I'd caught something or had a bad reaction to something new but I don't think I can have done!

It looks like measles but if you haven't been out it's unlikely to be tgat.

SergeiL · 07/01/2022 20:00

Exactly what I had and the theory was either a new vitamin I was taking or a new bath oil I used for eczema. It took a while to shift but using Dermol in the shower helped.

SergeiL · 07/01/2022 20:01

Btw, I consulted a doctor who wasn’t the least bit interested! Particularly as I was otherwise feeling well.

KittenCatcher · 07/01/2022 20:03

My german measles looked a bit like that, do you have children, been around children, been out anywhere.

Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 07/01/2022 20:04

Looks like hives to me
