Staying in February as a treat after a long 2 years. Going to see a show near Covent Garden, but don't want to stay there as we worry about noise! Can anyone please recommend a clean, modern hotel with nice views? Budget is up to £200.

Thank you!

The Rosewood in London is amazing. Felt so luxurious and their cocktails are just fantastic.

I paid £400 for one night which is over your budget but it was a weekend - not sure what day(s) you’re going but perhaps you can find a better deal. Apologies if not!

On a budget, Club Quarters is great. We stayed at one which was virtually on Trafalgar Square. Premier Inn Hub, Goodge St is nice.

@Findahouse21

I love the intercontinental at the o2
What a strange suggestion! London has hundreds of hotels. Why suggest one that is 10 miles from the OP's base/central London, a 35 minute tube and bus ride back in and in the midst of the bleakness that is the O2?!

@Peachyqueen I’ve just checked for CitizenM, and the most expensive rate for Feb is £134 per night. 100% recommend this place!

Premier Inn in Leicester Square is honestly the quietest hotel I've ever been to. I think it's probably because they have quadruple glazing. Don't hear a thing. Such a short walk to Covent Garden too. Been 4 times and never had an issue.

I recently stayed in the Westminster Park Plaza
Lovely hotel
Upgraded to a room king Suite with a view of the London Eye
Great location for everything
Could also recommend Citizen M
The Tower Hotel
The Hilton Tower

All really lovely hotels

Findahouse21 · 06/01/2022 19:58

@smorgasborb because it's one of my favourite hotels...

Sea Containers or The Savoy (River view) if you would like to splash out.

I’m a Hilton hotel fan. Hilton Bankside was lovely when we stayed there in the summer. It’s by Southbank.

The Waldorf is more expensive but right in the heart of theatre land.

I get what you’re saying. I still have very fond memories of the Intercontinental in Paris and I’ve stayed in dozens of hotels!

I second Citizen M Tower Bridge! Amazing view of the tower and I've never had a bad stay with them.

It’s a few years back now but we stayed in The Rembrandt which is in Kensington & brilliantly placed for the museums. We got a very good deal online. Polite attentive staff( but not overly), nice clean room with a 7ft bed ( I woke up & couldn’t find DH lol ) & excellent food.

Seconding Club Quarters at Lincoln's Inn Field.

Two minutes from Holborn Tube, 10 minutes walk from North Bank shopping and Covent Garden, 15-20 from Trafalgar, and Waterloo.

Brilliant location for theatres, and the superior rooms and suites have kitchenettes.

We've just come back from a post-Christmas break there, and can highly recommend

wishingchair1 · 06/01/2022 21:57

Holborn is a great spot. The jurys inn has a pool and spa. The premier inn in holborn is great. Location wise a easy walk from theatres. Or a stop on the tube.
London really isn't that noisy or busy. Especially since covid.
