Tax confusion (can anyone help? panicking)

Hi all. Firstly, I do apologise as I'm posting here for traffic - is there a tax section that I can post on instead?

If not, is there anyone that can help please? I owe tax and I'm slightly panicking as I have no idea where it's from. I appreciate it's difficult without documents but I can give dates and figures. HMRC aren't open until tomorrow and I'm working all week with only a 30 minute break so I might not get time to phone them until the weekend.

CBR is a flat 20% rate as someone mentioned upthread. It doesn't give you the Personal Allowance. @TaxTaxTax25 what is your annual salary? It's possible you're paying too much.

My salary is 23k p/a @Hibiscusroses

I'm going to try and call them later today or tomorrow early morning. Just haven't had a chance today been so busy with work!

In that case you will be over paying tax because you're not being given the benefit of the tax free allowance. You may well be due a rebate!
