Chances of transmission

I was with my friend all day yesterday in her house as our kids were having a post Xmas playdate. We all tested before meeting and all negative. She messaged me this morning and told me she woke up feeling tough so did an LFT which was positive. Awaiting her PCR but likely she'll be positive as she has symptoms now too. What are the chances of transmission? Indoors all together for about four hours. Incidentally today I feel exhausted.

Well, I've been in close contact with loads of people who are currently testing positive and I haven't caught it so it's not inevitable by any means.

I had a scratchy throat for 3 days before I got any kind of +.

My partner caught covid at the begining of december when he went for his booster jab. Know it was then as had been nowhere else. That was sunday. Lost taste and smell on the wed and positive lft. Thursday positive pcr test. Despite sharing a bed i didnt catch it although we didn't hug or kiss. I thought was no point sleeping separately as I'd already been exposed. Id had my booster 3rd nov and am ecv but was fine

My DH is currently positive. We know he caught it on boxing day as everyone he went to the pub with tested positive on new years eve. We're both triple jabbed.

I'm still testing negative on daily LFTs. No symptoms.

Here is the study published in Nature that states the pre-omicron percentage risk.

I’m struggling to find the Omicron study, bear with me.

Someone in my extended family tested positive boxing day, after spending time with my brother's family. My brother's family then spent the rest of the day with us and my cev mother. Only my brother's wife has also tested positive, so 2 in the 'overall' group of 13.

Looks like I've avoided it

I'm unvaccinated. Spent Xmas day with family (12 of us) one of who was positive. I didn't get it.
Hit and miss!

The only people who have got it, that I know, are vaccinated. I know quite a lot unvaccinated and so I can't work it out.

Op how you feel and a test today has no relation to catching covid it's far too soon to be symptomatic.

It’s 10 days since OP was exposed I think she can probably say she’s avoided it!
