To think the NHS don't need to spam me RE booster?

40 replies

MollyQueenOfSocks · 31/12/2021 10:48

I have finally had to block NHS No-Reply, NHSBooster and NHSvaccine because I am getting multiple texts a day from each number about booking my booster. I have had 5 so far today.

On top of this I am getting emails rom two different addresses and constant adverts EVERYWHERE from web to TV "Gently reminding" me I need to book a booster. I had my booster weeks ago Hmm

I get it. It needs to be advertised for the reluctant but come on. I don't need upwards of 6 reminders a day in text messages alone.

YABU - People are stupid and need reminders every 3 hours over the day
YANBU - This is excessive

@Cattitudes

Particularly frustrating when it is your child's number who can't have another vaccine at the moment even if we wanted to. I think that confirmed that it is just a blanket text, but annoying nevertheless.
This too! My son and daughter both have multiple texts from them. They are 10 and under!

@SilverHairedCat

I'd assume most of what you're receiving is spam and scam linked, not genuine. I've had the one text that the government sent out and that's it.

Don't click on any links!

Unfortunately it's not. One number was used to confirm my previous bookings, another is NHS no reply with confirms my hospital appointments and the other one (nhs booster) I assume is a newer one peddled as part of the campaign!

I have had to block all of them which is annoying because, as I said, two of them are numbers used specifically for appointment reminders etc.

I also work for the NHS so get emails in my work inbox from the work vaccination team AND the national NHS reminders service. I literally cannot check an email or messages without getting them.

Try getting a face to face GP appointment though to diagnose something that could save your life. No chance of that.

DixonD · 31/12/2021 13:29

I was getting them every three minutes the other night (text and email).

I blocked the sender in the end, and unblocked an hour or so later. It stopped after that.

@ReformedWaywardTeen Jesus Christ. You absolutely won the thread.

That woman sounds infuriating! I have probably had a couple of phone calls that I have ignored as I tend to let most calls (unless I am expecting a call) go to voicemail - again because the majority of calls I get are spam!

I went for a flu jab this week, got offered the booster by three different staff, alao had texts and emails, ignoring it, I had it last week. They said its so busy that there's a delay in data entry for who has and hasn't had it. Not enough staff/time.

TangfasticsAreFantastic · 31/12/2021 14:16

They really are pushing it. I had to phone HMRC the other week and the first thing I got was a recorded message saying I "must get boosted". Then I got home to a bit of post that had a postal stamp saying "Get your booster".

I think it was all part of Plan B though - advertising things more. I'd rather get lots of reminders than be locked down though!

Justmebeingme245 · 31/12/2021 14:17

I’ve had so many, I don’t read or open them now.

MrsWalrus · 31/12/2021 14:18

@milly74

yes its ridiculous I've had my booster, its on my records and still getting multiple texts
Same Hmm
BishopBrennansArse · 31/12/2021 14:20

Yes.
Especially as its for DS2 who has had covid and can't be boosted til end Feb.

cheerfulpanda · 31/12/2021 14:38

I recently had covid and can’t be boosted until end-Jan.

Positive test went through Track and Trace but the systems aren’t joined up! I get multiple messages from NHS, GP, local council telling me to get boosted.

GP even booked an appt for me in my isolation window!

dogaibu · 31/12/2021 15:30

I had 13 texts in 2 hours. I'd already HAD the booster! It's bizarre

KiloWhat · 31/12/2021 15:32

They started putting it on the post now too.

They should let you opt out if you've had one

SoupDragon · 31/12/2021 15:36

I've not had any texts at all.

MadisonAvenue · 31/12/2021 15:37

I’ve had letters weeks after having my booster to say that they have no record of me having it and I need to book, yet it was showing on the app.
