To expect the start of ds1's Christmas not to be ruined by same bar-steward stealing his best football cards?

ds1 (6) took his treasured Match Attax collection to after school club with him today.

While he was there someone rifled through his album and took out all his best cards. He's been totally distraught all evening, while someone else is no doubt feeling very pleased with themselves.

And all the girl running the after school club could say was "nobody here would do anything like that". Well I'm sorry, but one of them did, so I don't see that it would hurt them to put up a notice saying that the cards had gone missing while at the club in case one of the parents noticed and put two and two together, or to say something to the kids in general - not to anyone in particular although ds1 thinks he knows who it was - in case any of them had seen/knew anything.

I agree they could let it be known that cards have gone missing - at the school I work at we have often had parents bringing in things like football cards that their DCs have suddenly 'acquired'
Sadly they are often never recovered, which is why we always say "Don't bring treasured possessions into school".

I'm sorry this has happened I know how important these things are to little boys

If it helps my ds has recently ost some of his and he went and handpicked the certain ones he wanted from a site came to about two pound I think .

If you want the link let me know and I will try and find it

I've just gone online and ordered replacements for him as far as I can - although no way of getting back the limited edition ones he's lost. But the site says allow more than 28 days for delivery due to demand, and that's a long time for a 6 year old to handle the disappointment.

The thing is one of the other mums (whose sons were among the half dozen at after school club tonight) was openly praising her kids "entrepreneurial skills" the other day saying that they'd never bought any of the cards but now had quite a big collection of them. She needs to be questioning exactly what sort of skills it is that they have I think.
