Ds is a very fussy eater but has requested lasagne, which is very exciting as his palette really limited.

I want to make a knock out lasagne, please hit me with your most amazing delicious lasagne recipes. Wine

I use Gordon Ramsey's lasagna al forno but with added black pudding in the meat sauce. It is gorgeous. Sorry for no link, on my phone....but Google it, its pretty quick too.

DS doesn’t like pasta so I make lasagne with tortilla wraps instead of pasta sheets and add crushed Doritos to the cheese on top. We call it Mexican lasagne and everyone loves it. Also (people will think I’m a philistine) but I add tomato ketchup to the mince as well as passata.

I use Mary Berry’s recipe and I make it up and leave it overnight before cooking.

I used to make the Jamie Oliver one with short rib ragu. Cook the sauce for 5/6 hours or in a pressure cooker . I make my own white sauce and Cheddar and mozzarella on top . Very indulgent but incredibly delicious.

Couldn't find Jamie's recipe but this one is similar

Depends on the nature of his fussiness. If he doesn't like strong flavours then adding lots of wine, herbs, strong cheddar etc may make it less likely that he likes it.

In what way is he fussy?

FortniteBoysMum · 30/12/2021 16:08

Gordon ramsey's lasagna Al forno. Personally I leave out the bayleaf and add a bit more garlic and wine.

Textures are his fussiness Sad Not too keen on anything chunky or chewy when mixed together.

I love Mary's lasagna.

Meat or veggie? I was given a veggie recipe that goes down a treat.

SpellBounds · 30/12/2021 19:15

I'd just go really basic if he's fussy, if you jazz it up too much he won't like it. I'd even (I never do this) use dolmio sauces etc so it's all really standard and basic and see how it goes.

pastabest · 30/12/2021 19:17

Why has he requested lasagne?

Honestly? I love a fancy lasagne but for a fussy eater I'd be starting with entry level mince and dolmio and working up from there

ruthieness · 30/12/2021 19:34

my sugestion is to grease the tin with butter and start with a layer of pasta -
this means it comes off the bottom clean in portions!
i do three layers of pasta - two layers of ragu meat and then one thick layer of bechemel sauce then grated cheese on top

I also add a dollop of pesto on top of each portion at the end of cooking
red for meat lasagne - green for vegetarian version!

FrownedUpon · 30/12/2021 19:38

Mary Berry’s lasagne is my favourite & I've tried quite a few recipes.

Jericha · 30/12/2021 19:40

Another vote for Mary berry's recipe.
