Finally some justice for the victims of the horrific rape circle.

Anyone else hoping Prince Andrew is next?

The men should also be tried for their part as well

Do you see Trump, Clinton, Andrew, Gates, Spacey being brought to justice for this?

I agree @GinIronic. They’ll try and appeal on the grounds the jury was rushed.

Ostryga
I mean, whichever way we look at this she has taken the fall for a LOT of men.
Absolutely. While I'm glad she's been held accountable for her part, let's not pretend this is some triumph of justice.

I couldn’t agree with you both more.

myrtleWilson · 29/12/2021 23:56

How does "sealing" work in the US - is it completely at the discretion of the trial judge, does it last forever, can it be appealed and if so by whom - only those connected (ie DA teams) or wider (ie journalists arguing public interest) - I know for eg in England (not sure if UK wide) journalists can make case for information about a case to be made public etc

lolaflores · 30/12/2021 00:05

Clinton did get awfully ill either just T the start of the trial or just before. I did wonder if it was psychosomatic? Was he fretting at what might be exposed?

Wasn't Andrew part of the deal Epstein made in Florida with Eruc Acosta, that no one else could be indicted?

I like the idea of her as a Sin Eater. She sits there to absorb the collective guilt, take a really big one for the team.
Perhaps she knows what's ultimately best her is to do just that. I mean, she's seen quite a few sudden and less than convincing suicides to understand the contract she signed on for.
Yet her arrogance could not be abated. Sketching the court room artist who was sketching her. Pissy little power play from someone who thinks they can still intimidate sell people. Was see what the sentencing holds.

@Ostryga

The men should also be tried for their part as well

Do you see Trump, Clinton, Andrew, Gates, Spacey being brought to justice for this?

Does that make her less culpable for her part in this?
lolaflores · 30/12/2021 00:27

I think if the men were brought to trial, it would not lessen her crimes one jot but certainly let the world see into the world we low downs don't have a clue about. It would be enlightening to say the least but that won't happen so sending her down for her crimes will have to do for now . I just hope a few of those bastards are shitting their expensive pants

Pazuzu · 30/12/2021 00:35

There's no plea deal now she's convicted. It's just sentencing.

Hopefully they will go after all of the other people involved but the more people act as judge/jury/executioner online, the more likely any defence team will state that there is no way their client can get a fair trial.

Cocoabutterformula · 30/12/2021 00:37

I think

BrightYellowDaffodil · 30/12/2021 00:41

I quite agree.

While I don’t excuse what she’s done in any way, reading about her childhood is quite illuminating: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-59733623

Willyoujustbequiet · 30/12/2021 01:20

Good

But I do hate the double standards....Bill Wyman for example.

UniversalAunt · 30/12/2021 02:05

Prince Andrew & the many others implicated…the rich, the powerful, the ick set.

I hope GM sings like the proverbial canary.

Out on appeal on House Arrest I reckon.[/quote]
No way, she has several passports including a French one, the French are not known for extraditing its citizens.

SunscreenCentral · 30/12/2021 02:40

@AmIoldbutdontrealiseit

I’ve been surprised how little coverage the case has had, I thought it would’ve been everywhere
Yes indeed. The allegations regarding the "royal family" member

This is ongoing global news. Just not in your news? Perhaps?

Mogs43 · 30/12/2021 02:55

I just don't understand the Prince Andrew situation. He has a team of Protection Officers with him 24/7 (provided by the Met and paid for by us). Surely they can say where he was and when ? - unless they have also 'forgotten' and their records are now 'missing'....If that is the case then it would be a very large conspiracy indeed as she has claimed to be assaulted on at least three occasions - so at the very least it would involve a number of protection officers and members of his Private Office. He is not the only one who can account for his movements - a high number of people can and they should be asked to do so.

ssd · 30/12/2021 07:35

I hope justice is served. I have no faith she'll spend her time in a filthy jail cell. Money talks. Especially in the US.

Neron · 30/12/2021 07:38

She'll be dead soon, and the rest of this will quietly slip away with no charges ever bought against anyone else.

ssd · 30/12/2021 07:42

Yes, or if mot dead, living quietly in an open prison or similar, seeing friends and generally keeping her head down.

ThinWomansBrain · 30/12/2021 07:51

Any possibility of her assets being seized and returned to maxwell group pensioners?
Never quite understood where her brothers got their "get out of jail" free card from, or how they retained their wealth. Ian possibly not culpable, but Kevin worked closely with his father and must have been at the heart of fruadulent activity.
US justice system may have it's faults, but seems less corruptible and an improvement on British courts.

MmeSosostris · 30/12/2021 07:53

Gates?

motherofthelittlescreamingone · 30/12/2021 08:53

Family have already said they will appeal. Ordinary men and women have convinced her, but if she gets the right judge she might still escape.... choosing the appeal judge could be quite fraught.

MissPeregrine · 30/12/2021 10:52

What happens to a convicted person’s assets when they’re sentenced to life? Do they still get a say in what happens? Their property for instance?

Presume someone like GM will have a team of people sorting all this out for her.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/12/2021 10:58

In fairness the UK system works up to a point, but not if there's a RF member involved

They're not the Queen's courts for nothing

PrincessScarlett · 30/12/2021 11:17

Sadly I don't think GM will talk. It's not worth her talking as she'll still be facing the rest of her life in jail.

I think this is such a hollow victory. Epstein avoided being convicted and I fear all those men associated with JE and GM will never be brought to justice. It will be interesting to see if any more victim accounts come to light now but unfortunately I think the victims are too scared to name the other men involved because of how powerful they are.
