Fish for new year lunch 🐟

I am sick of being in the kitchen cooking all the Beef/Pork/Turkey hot dinners with all the seasonal vegetc, where I spend all day in the kitchen 😬 this new year day, I am getting 2 x full salmon to cook, with new potatoes, green beans and a prawn cocktail. The family is not happy🙄 but I am doing it! Sick of slaving at the cooker all over xmas! Ps there are over 13+ 😢

I think it’s lovely to have a salmon for new year after a big roast at christmas. I’d also do a proper salad with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado. Can’t see the point in new potatoes and then potato salad! Maybe do a hollandaise sauce, you can buy them ready made or even th e packet stuff to save on time and effort/stress.

Salmon, greens and New potatoes is a perfectly healthy lunch even for the dieters. I mean, I can't bear salmon but if I could it would be lovely! I'd eat plenty potatoes and enjoy my day with you

For the vegetarians just buy frozen veggie option things - recommend the Lidl mushroom and Stilton things (frozen)

Yanbu to refuse to make several different meals. Yabu to serve salmon on new years day. Steak pie is the oy acceptable meal for new years day.

Ask them to HELP for God's sake. You don't have to do it all on your own and then moan about it for the rest of the year; then invite them over again next year...
