8 replies

Rizzoli123 · 28/12/2021 01:02

My MIL has covid. In hospital for for different matter. Pcr confirmed. We live in same house with his parents and 2 kids 6 and 4

I have a booster jab booked for the 30th. I asked a friend who said as long as j test negitive I can have it.

I am being unreasonable just go.

I did and lft as soon as she was admitted and it was negitive now kids are coughing. I will do another test before I go. Will I still be ok to get it or should I postpone.

I would postpone because, if you get any side effects, you won’t know if you are feeling rough because of side effects or Covid.

Do a PCR on yourself at the same time as doing it in the kids, and keep doing lateral flows and if all negative on the day then I think your allowed to go.

LittleBearPad · 28/12/2021 09:42

If you’re negative on a lft go and get it

hugr · 28/12/2021 10:11

Are you isolating from MIL?

WorriedGiraffe · 28/12/2021 10:34

@hugr

Are you isolating from MIL?
Says in the first line that she’s in hospital so I imagine so.

My son was positive when I had mine done. I was negative and saw no reason not to go. Just text before you go.

Rizzoli123 · 28/12/2021 10:52

@hugr

Yes she is in hospital. We are at home. Positive LFT at home. Hospital confirmed PCR

That's a daft argument. The OP can take tests to tell whether she has Covid or not, in fact she should be taking tests for the next few days regardless because of the recent contact with a positive case.

Not getting the jab in case she is about to develop symptoms isn't a good idea, all it does is increase the risk of her getting Covid in the future.
