The local one is shut but we have been given so many boxes that (are all in date) I am happy to pass them on if that is something foidbanks want. Asking if anyone here works at one or knows if they would like them
I do give small packets of biscuits but mostly we give basics from their list.

I took a load of biscuits and chocolates to my local ambulance/fire station on boxing day as we'd received so many the day before. They were well received by the on duty staff.

@Shallwegoforawalk

Yes they would be appreciated at our Foodbank. Service users here get a set bag of the "basics" and we try to also meet any requests (toiletries, san pro, pet food) but we also have a table where they can choose an extra treat. Nice chocs and biscuits would definitely be snapped up! Thank you for thinking of those in need.
I've donated a lot of unwanted gifted sweets and chocolates this Christmas and am glad to hear this - obviously they can't stand in stead of proper food but this sounds like a good approach and I hope someone will have enjoyed it.

Our foodbank would take these happily - provided they are still sealed and preferably in date! If we're lucky left over Christmas chocs keep us going till Easter!

We can also use toiletry sets that people seem to gift alot but dislike receiving!

One collection point (Waitrose) lists what they need. I'm always surprised- not just long life things but items like butter and such. I too try and include some yummy things - I think what I like to buy and just buy extra to donate, as well as the items they've requested.

Yes of course, people in need of help from a foodbank shouldn't be treated as if they only deserve lentils and tinned tomatoes - they also deserve a treat! And biscuits and chocolate can help people feel just a little bit better in tough circumstances.

Do it! I’m sure somebody would really appreciate a treat if you’re inundated
