Do you like Christmas Day?

I actually find it quite stressful, the morning is nice opening presents, then its full on rushing about with dh in a hot kitchen, getting the meal ready for us and guests, I cant quite relax enough, wanting everything to be perfect and go 100% smoothly ! All these ads with families smiling on the sofa in matching pjs, is it really like that for people?

More relaxed by the evening and exhausted ! Starting to appreciate the days that follow until 4 Jan!

Don't enjoy it, not sure I ever have.

I absolutely love Christmas, but I'd say Christmas Day is my least favourite part of it, certainly in recent years. The DC are quite grown up now, 16 and 18 and after we've opened our presents the entire day is basically me cooking, clearing, washing up and preparing more food.

I love the build up and love having everyone over but it is very stressful. DP was working until 7pm this year so I had to do it all alone (DC helped as much as they could but that wasn't much!!).

I've decided Boxing Day is my new favourite day. I took the dog for a really long walk then watched Call The Midwife, knowing I didn't have anything else to do. Bliss ☺️

I LOVE the run up to Christmas day right from when the tree goes up but find Christmas day extremely stressful despite it only being me, DH and our two young kids.

My youngest gets overwhelmed and tired and it always seems a mad stressful rush. And everything gets such a mess and It just adds ro the feel of chaos!!

Me and dh decided this would be our last year hosting for 15. All the kids are just about adults, our youngest 17 was an ungrateful shit, his older brother 22 was a miserable shit so we're not doing it.
The family were surprised but my sister or brother can take over, I'm done.
I can't wait for next Christmas already, we're volunteering then will drink wine in the evening.
I did enjoy Christmas day this year but by the skin of my teeth.

Don't have guests!!! We binned gusts a few years ago (see them prior to or after Christmas Day) and have never looked back! Some people love a mental, socially exhausting Christmas, some don't. Like marmite!

No, I feel tense and unhappy and am glad when it's over.

Hate it. Passionately.

I used to feel like I spent too much time cooking on Christmas day until about 5 years ago we started to host Christmas dinner with one set of relatives on Christmas eve and the other set we will have a buffet with on boxing day. The relatives can exchange gifts with the kids on whatever day they see them so they get to see their faces when they open them. Christmas day we have to ourselves and is really relaxed, mostly spent playing with the kids and their new toys/games and watching films. We have a cheeseboard for lunch and bubble and squeak for dinner with the leftovers from the Christmas Dinner we had on Christmas Eve so there is minimal cooking and mess to clear up. Couldn't do it any other way now.

I love the run up to it too, buying the gifts, getting the Christmas room sprays, Christmas loo rolls, the tree etc etc but day itself it is so hard to relax !!!!
