It's 8:05am and the neighbour's party downstairs is still going on...

I'm staying at my mum's over Christmas with DH and 17-month old DS. We spent yesterday with my auntie, uncle and cousins, and when we arrived back at 8:30pm, the neighbours downstairs had a party in full swing. The walls are thin and you can hear the words of the music... But it's Christmas and we're only here a few more nights, so I let it go.

The noise woke me a few times in the night. Luckily, DS who usually wakes easily at any bloody noise (he has bat ears), was out of it all night (Christmas must've been too much!)
It's now after 8am and the music is STILL blaring and they are all still talking loudly in the garden. The music and noise woke me at 6am and I just couldn't get back to sleep. I'm watching TV to the "boom boom boom" of the base and drinking coffee, feeling very grumpy about it all.

Someone tell it to me straight... Am I just being a grump? Or is this ridiculous and rude?

Why aren't they tired yet?!

The thing is with noisy people is they know they are noisy but do not care. At best they will do it until told to shut up. At worst they will continue.

Can’t believe someone posted they are druggies as they had an all night party, we have done that many times and we certainly have never taken drugs.

For Christmas, DS got a harmonica, a hooter for his bike, and a police car with a wide variety of very loud and realistic siren noises. Send me your address and I’ll drop him off as soon as they go to bed… you can borrow the woofy puppy as well if you like. No charge

@Bluntness100qy I’m 95% sure that partying until 8a.m constitutes drugs. Quite a lot of them. A drinking party usually ends up ending sooner coz people are getting disorderly or puking on carpets or crashed out by 4.

Might be bitter experience! The only time I’ve had neighbours with such party stamina drugs were involved. The sounds coming from the other side of the wall were really weird - everyone talking and shouting over each other and making random noises - and they used to throw the baggies (and beer cans) out of their window. They used to start in the early hours and carry on to noon. The day the tenant was evicted was a wonderful one.

Genuinely no. I’ve done it many times, I’m fifty three and done it last a year ago, where the men actually were sensible and went to bed and the women stayed up drinking, dancing and chatting till gone ten am. No drugs at all. I assure you.

I’ve been to a lot of parties and 8:30 AM always means coke.
