Cold symptoms brewing since last night.
I'm with relatives a few hours Saar from home. Have been so careful, limiting contact with others, LFT every day inc today.
I have what could be described as a 'stinking cold' - have had multiple paracetamols, lemon/ginger teas/loads of water. No cough...
Elderly family members coming tomorrow & Boxing Day - terrified I'll test positive in the morn. Anyone else just suffering with a 'normal cold' - I'm hoping it's that!

Covid in September, second bout. A cold so bad it put me in bed for 3 days 2 weeks ago, negative PCR. High temp, muscle aches, bunged up and fatigue today, so I've booked another PCR and there goes Boxing day. Fed up. I saw a patient with Omicron on Friday but tbh just as likely to have caught it from ds.

No, they really arent @JohnSmithDrive. If you look it up there are numerous studies showing up to, and sometimes over 50% of false negatives especially in people with symptoms. Also a smaller number of false positives have shown too.

I really haven't had a false negative every day for 10 days, which is when my cold symptoms started

I really dont think you understand at all based on that reply

Day 1 runny nose sneezes
Day 2 fever, dry cough and chest pain , pcr positive
Day 3-5 very unwell and has affected the whole of my body esp my digestive system
Day 6 today, still dizzy, sickly and feeling very weak

I'm double jabbed too - worst week of my life

LFT should not be relied on if you have symptoms. You need to isolate and take a PCR. This is exactly how the virus is going to spread this Christmas. Hope you feel better soon Op.

Absolutely this. Can’t believe the number of people saying they had cold symptoms and multiple negative LFTs. Get a PCR!
