To want some waterproof boots that are actually waterproof?

Potpourri23 · 23/12/2021 10:26

Is the answer just to wear welly boots? I've bought plain, pull on boots that claim to be waterproof TWICE but I come back from walks with my feet sodden. All I want to do is walk across grass with my dog and not have to change my socks when I get home. (I also can;t be arsed with laces, hence the pull-on requirement.)

I'd also like said boots to be fleece-lined or in some other way warmer than wellington boots, but as any lining seems to wear away around the heel area within a week this may be too much to ask.

Does anyone have any hard-wearing, reasonably priced recommendations?

I have superfit boots (look on amazon) - velcro (but I just leave them loose and slip them on). Never get cold or wet feet. Took them to Finland, wore extra thick socks, still had warm feet. I adore them, and when they finally succumb (had current pair 5 years, so it'll take a while) I will buy another pair (or just make sure I keep my youngest's when he grows past me in size)

I put sheepskin insoles in my wellies and other boots. Keeps my feet warm and I take them out in summer. I get the Celtic & co ones.

I had this problem but last few years just been wearing short wellies, so they are not really obviously wellies. I have literally lived in joules rainwell boots the last few years. In all seasons. Love em.

Another Sorrell fan here. Mine are on their third winter and I love them.

Councilworker · 24/12/2021 00:28

Another vote for Sorel. I bought mine when my daughter was born so I could take her out in the pram whatever the weather. She is 8 now and they're still going strong and coped with walking through snow during Beast from the East as well as North West rain. Probably the best value per wear ever.

ECCO boots. I had a pair from the children's section that I bought in the sale. They were biker boot style. They went through mid, deep puddles even a splash in the sea and stayed waterproof.

I have scarpa walking boots that I’ve had about 6 years, leather, totally waterproof, super warm and comfy. Cost about £150 then.

Bogs neoprene ankle boots. Look a bit like Chelsea boots. I wore them in Toronto, they are too hot for my feet here. Completely waterproof.

Spanglybangles · 24/12/2021 00:45

I love my AriatvEskdake boots. Warm, waterproof and comfy. Had mine 5 years and they are pretty much as new.

Spanglybangles · 24/12/2021 00:47

Ariat Eskdale that should read.

Changechangychange · 24/12/2021 00:47

these Not the wellies elsewhere on the site.

Einszwei · 24/12/2021 00:50

Ariats or Dubbarys.

MobyDicksTinyCanoe · 24/12/2021 00:53

I got ds a pair of Berghaus walking boots for £60 so a bargain for walking boots standards. He said they were as comfy as his slippers from day one, not too heavy and most importantly keep his feet bone dry.

Blossomsbloom · 24/12/2021 00:59

Toggi's, had mine for 10+ years. Would like Dubarry's but out of my price range.

Moonlaserbearwolf · 24/12/2021 01:10

I used to struggle with wellies too and now have some waterproof Adirondack Uggs. They are amazing. They are warm, very comfortable and definitely waterproof - they've been through many a field of long, wet grass during dog walks.

Houseofvelour · 24/12/2021 01:47

My rocket dog boots are amazing! I've had them for years and they're still going strong and keep my feet warm and dry.
I got them from Groupon in 2015/16

crispinglovershighkick · 24/12/2021 02:27

Blundstones with sheepskin liners (I put the liner in myself, my feet are a bit narrow and the liner helps them fit well). Warm, dry, utterly comfortable, can walk miles in them.

Becca8675309 · 24/12/2021 02:40

Another vote for Emu boots. Warm and waterproof. I wear to ballet class.

HappyDays40 · 24/12/2021 04:25

Dunlop wellies.

TeloMere · 24/12/2021 06:46

A 3rd vote for Berghaus boot, keep feet warm and dry in snow, mud, walking across streams and so comfortable.
I'm on my second pair, first lasted 3 years worn every day all year round.

Plutonium7000 · 24/12/2021 07:23

Snow boots. Mountain Warehouse do some reasonably priced good quality ones. Cosy and waterproof.

DIYandEatCake · 24/12/2021 07:57

Dunlop Blizzard fleece lined wellies - I live in mine all winter. Totally waterproof and really comfy, even on long walks. Yes they look like proper wellies but my feet are warm and dry so I couldn’t care less Smile

Limer · 24/12/2021 08:02

Sealskinz waterproof socks.
