To ask what weird viruses you’ve had lately that didn’t turn out to be Covid?

Nearly everyone I know (myself included) has been ill on and off lately. Firstly it was a strange upset stomach and just recently, I had a bout of pretty bad dizziness for a few hours where I could barely walk… followed by a day or two of feeling wiped out/shaky (especially when hungry) and weird blocked feeling in my ears. Completely gone after a few days!

All have resulted in negative tests and most of my friends have been ill on and off recently.

Oh my word my Dad had the weird dizzy shivery thing, exactly as you describe, also went v quickly, quite random as they don't really go a lot of places, I was worried it might be something heart or stroke related so this has actually reassured me.

My DC have had 4 separate colds since mid Oct each lasting nearly two weeks, we avoided the last two but all have this one, inc inlaws, kids are toddlers who have had enough of PCRs noe (no way on gods earth am I pinning them down to do one) but we've all lateral flowed and neg.

Me and DH had the tummy bug, horrific, two weeks of nausea, children fine so I'm thinking it was maybe the one they get vaccinated against but can still shed.

Went to M&S this morning, not my best piece of judgment now panicking about getting Omicron as it was hell on earth. Whole bloody families in their with their kids (why just why???).

Awful virus this summer, caught from DS. It morphed in to sinusitis, an ear infection and a perforated ear drum! I was in agony.

Now I’ve got a really heavy cold, as has DS, with sore throat and cough - but I’ve tested negative three times for Covid this week. I’m boosted though, so that may be it. DH currently has Covid but I haven’t caught it from him.

My baby (ex preemie) caught RSV and is in hospital. I caught it off him in hospital and it's horrid.

Cold after cold after cold. And most recently, hand foot and mouth disease?!?

I thought I was over whatever I had, felt much better yesterday and today I am completely wiped out again! Feel so lethargic and weak! Again, negative LFT!

Ah that happened to me last Friday and Saturday but after that I really did get steadily better. Today I shopped, cleaned and I think I’m going to risk a glass of wine

Midlifecrash that’s good to know. I’m cautiously optimistic in that I feel slightly better this morning so fingers crossed!

@Tryagainplease I had exactly what you describe, with dizziness, wiped out, etc. a couple of weeks ago. I tried to walk to the shop round the corner and had to call my DP to come and get me as I couldn't walk straight!!! Was feeling fine again a couple of days later

So strange. It’s easy to forget that there are other viruses about! 3 negative LFTs so far and counting!

Four weeks of various cold symptoms. Started in throat went to chest plus sickness, then ears, then sinuses then larynx. Voice was AWOL for about half a week. It's not been fun. Never suffered with a cold like that before.
