For the last 5 months I've:

  • had a headache most days.
  • have dry eyes.
  • I drink lots of water as it relieves it for a few minutes, but then that gives me the chills.

I feel like it's a minor thing to go docs for when there's a pandemic but the headaches are exhausting.

Has anyone had these symptoms? And worked out what it is.

Sometimes when I Google my symptoms I think it's migraines which makes me think just crack on because what can the docs do anyway, I just need to manage my own stress better.

I used to think it was due to a lack of sleep but I get at least 8 hours each night now.

Are you using painkillers more than usual? I get this and I find it triggers more headaches if it carries on for a long time. Vicious circle, I know.

I’m a doctor. Get seen, and get your eyes checked. Your doctor will need to ask you questions to work out whether you need reassurance and advice/treatment to manage these headaches or further investigations. Loads of reasons for headaches, don’t worry too much but also please don’t ignore persistent headaches.

When it comes to too much water being bad for you then surely nobody is drinking more than the required amount each day?!

It’s odd to me because my doctor and I have had the discussion about water and me not drinking enough and never once did he mention that too much causes migraines, it’s too little that gives me migraines.
