Hello all

Son tested + for covid 2 days back ,had all the major symptoms of covid but I tested - for it today .Its impossible since I literally live with my son and we have very close contact with each other .We kiss each other and always hug each other .AIBU if the results are false .

My DD had Covid and nobody else in the family got it. We didn’t distance from her at all - I still gave her cuddles etc. As others have said, it’s not 100% transmissible.

I don't think unless you live in a mansion you can avoid it. I glugged down end of my husband wine he had It. I never got it.

My husband and two sons all tested positive and I never caught it from them.

Incubation period is 4 days on average but can be longer. And if it's Delta, household contacts have a 40% chance of catching it, so high risk but not inevitable. If it's omicron you'll likely test positive soon.

PCR is extremely accurate.
Some people just don’t get infected. Back last March/April I went to a talk about early research on cases within households, where everyone was a close contact. Some people in the household got it and some didn’t, they had negative PCR (i.e. no virus), no antibodies, nothing. It’s still not completely clear why that happens but it does.

Two of our household had it earlier in the year but the other two didn't catch it. Now one has it and the rest of the house are so far clear.
We've worn masks inside and ventilated as much as possible.
