Hi there. Is it normal… does it happen… that my baby is 9 months but still has no teeth?

Totally normal. Make the most of it and not feeling the pressure to have to brush them every night.

rocky1914 · 17/12/2021 21:30

Very normal, my DC didn't get her first tooth until 13 months! I was so worried! Even now, she's almost 3 and still waiting for her top molars to come in. Totally normal ...I think?! 😂

DD was 14 months when she got her 1st tooth. She's 6 now and still hasn't lost any, last out of everyone in her class!

As an aside, you should've seen how quick she chomped through corn on the cob with her gums at her 1st birthday party Grin

DilemmaDelilah · 17/12/2021 22:13

Perfectly normal. I got mine at around 12 months, as did both my children. I also still have 2 of my baby teeth, as does one of my children.

TerribleZebra · 17/12/2021 22:31

DD 15 months she could walk and talk before she had any teeth!

DrinkFeckArseBrick · 17/12/2021 22:33

Mine was 11.5 months. I was a bit like, will they ever come but as my husband pointed out, he has never seen a 5 year old with no teeth!

Toplowlight · 17/12/2021 22:36

Mine is 1 and has no teeth yet! I’ve been told they only start worrying if they have none by 18 months.

ambereeree · 17/12/2021 23:39

My dd walked at 8 months and cut her first tooth a month later. My ds walked at 14 months and got his first tooth at 16 months but his are all coming slowly.

Oh my goodness thank you all so much for responding. It is such a help to hear about all of your late teeth developers, I seem to be surrounded by teething babies all younger than mine. I really appreciate the feedback, it is a relief and a comfort. Go Mumsnet Community! xo

My 3 year old got her first tooth at 4 months.. had a full mouth by 12 months. Teething was intense but over.

My 8 month old is yet to get his first.

So I'm hoping it's normal. He is teething and guns are swollen but just no teeth!

Snowywintersundays123 · 18/12/2021 08:15

My DD didn’t get teeth till 17 months old…. Even got the the stage where we spoke to the health visitor. She said if none by 18 months t speak to the dentist, her first came through a couple of weeks later

Lunariagal · 18/12/2021 08:42

13 months here.
Must've had the sharpest gums in thr world.

Limer · 18/12/2021 08:48

My youngest DS 25 years ago got his first tooth at 13 months, and he didn't walk until 15 months. His own son is exactly the same!

TheWitchersWife · 18/12/2021 08:55

Both mine learned to walk before they got their first tooth.
And all their teeth from then onwards were a few months after the last expected date.
So if a tooth should appear between 16 and 21 months, they got them at 25 months.
I wouldnt worry.

Rowgtfc72 · 18/12/2021 11:16

Dd was 13 months and her first two that came through together were her top two fangs. She looked like a little vampire!

Nodancingshoes · 18/12/2021 19:28

All our family didnt get teeth till a year, we also kept baby teeth for longer which is good for your big teeth apparently as they last longer.

Porfre · 18/12/2021 19:29

Both of mine over 12 months
