Yes i'd go.

or

No i would decline.

I'm not a government bot i'm just interested and thought i'd ask :) For info., we've been invited, we're going, but i'm a bit wibbley about it and through all this i've never been wibbley! Wondered how many others would/wouldn't.

You know, i think i've wibbled right across to not going.

It's easy enough, we have DD7 and i can say i need to stay with her.

DH is feeling obliged, i know he is.

No I wouldn't go

And no one should feel obliged to attend a social event at the moment

Laiste · 21/12/2021 16:08

UPDATE.
In case anyone's interested.

Well, in the end we rang to say we thought it would be better not to go. DN (Neighbour) said there was only 5 people going (apart from their own household of 3, and us 2)(so my random guess of 10 was correct in the end!) and they had done LFTs and he'd ask the other 5 to do one before they came.

SO we agreed to go and we did tests before we left and we were both neg. and at the door DN confirmed everyone had done the same.

We stayed an hour.

Today we have a call from DN to say his wife is v ill in hospital with covid Shock :( Ambulance came out to her on Sunday night.

I'm genuinely shocked and bloody cross with myself that i didn't insist on DH and i declining. Now we have to test test test and hope for the best before DHs family do we're meant to attend on 27th.

Moral of the story is: if in doubt Listen To Yourself!!

With the fit neighbour or the racist ones?

Iamclearlyamug · 21/12/2021 17:04

I wouldn’t, but that’s because I wouldn’t want to go anyway. If I wanted to see those people that badly, then I would

3peassuit · 21/12/2021 17:06

No. I think it’s too risk at present .

Muchmorethan · 21/12/2021 17:11

No l wouldn't as l don't want to risk having to isolate.

Yuledo · 21/12/2021 17:12

I’d be annoyed that he took that long telling you tbh.

Hope you stay well.

Muchmorethan · 21/12/2021 17:12

Sorry... didn't see your update

superram · 21/12/2021 17:17

I would. I’ve got covid, I could have caught it anywhere. Do the fun stuff while you can, a lockdown is on its way.

Catsrus · 21/12/2021 17:17

This is - um - worryingly swift?

negative LF on Friday and well enough to socialise - hospital on Sunday??

DancerPrancerDonnerBlitzen · 21/12/2021 17:18

No, but then I don't like my neighbours very much!

mumpants · 21/12/2021 17:33

Yes

mushforbrain · 21/12/2021 17:38

I would have.
But now I have covid and that benefit of hindsight, I wouldn’t. My DH and I both positive and pretty miserable - feeling really rough 7 days in and trying to keep two young DCs entertained and Xmassy. Praying I can taste again on Xmas day.

How coincidental
