To think Christmas brings out the worst in people?

Not sure if I've worded this right, I'll presume you all know what I mean but does anyone else find themselves being wound up more easily by people on the run up to Christmas. I either have no patience or its possibly due to the higher amount of people out and about.

Manners just go out the window despite it being the "season of goodwill"....for example, people in shops pushing past each other in shops for a selection box or walking slowly 4 abreast down the street so no one can get past. Just being deliberately obtuse and no awareness for others or their surroundings.

It's just come to a head today in a car park as a girl just flew out on the small roundabout in front of me and when I beeped she did an angry "roundabout" spinny hand gesture....to which I got even more annoyed because I had the right of way!

Please tell me I'm not alone in thinking this...I just want to hide for the next week and avoid the public...
Wine pending.

I'm sure you aren't. It sounds actually pretty normal for interacting with the public, plus the rush/stress of Christmas.

Don't have this issue and I've massively been enjoying myself but 1.I work with kids and it's great this time of year 2.our Christmases are VERY low key 3. I do all my shopping online. It's OH that has to deal with -ughhh- people Grin

Agree OP. I saw several people being rude to post office staff and the postie on Tuesday because the post box was full. Must have been 5 people in the space of 3 minutes. We live in a town with multiple post boxes, just go to another one.

All your complaints are about people being in your way, perhaps you need more tolerance and patience

It has the opposite effect in our house. Our daughter, fantastic woman, brilliant mum, was somewhat (ha 🤣) challenging at 15/16/17. Always lovely at Christmastime though (she still loves it)

I agree, people in general can be awful in the shops ect this time of year, Christmas Eve tends to be the worst though If you work in retail from my past experience as things can be out of stock ect

I knew someone would say this lol!! Whilst I do agree with my need for more patience, some people need to get some common decency. Xmas Smile These are the same people who throw clothes all over the floor in primark after someone has stood folding them up. 😂 Sorry I just needed to rant today!

What is a roundabout spinny hand gesture?
