They are 6, turning 7 mid January. They are in the same class in school. For various reasons, they never had a proper birthday party :(
AIBU to host a party with around 10 of their school friends? I’m thinking of booking pizza express pizza making party.

It’s the same group they are with all day in school and pizza parties happen in the morning when there aren’t other customers in the restaurant.

Aibu to go ahead and book given the number of cases shooting up (will probably shoot up more after Xmas)?

Book your kids a party. Open the windows and take lft’s beforehand. Enjoy yourself.

Do it! They will love it.

I wouldn't plan ANYthing for January tbh.

We're in the same situation with our turning 8 year old. We've booked a party at a local bouncy castle place. I wouldn't be surprised if restrictions means we have to cancel though.

If schools are open (and I think they will be) I don’t see the problem with them being at school during the day and going out for lunch since they have mixed all day anyway!

My DD is turning 6 in January and I've planned a party at home with half a dozen of her friends.

I've explained to her that there is a possibility that it might not go ahead or that not everyone will be able to come.

I think the saddest part is that she is totally resigned to the fact that cancelling is a real possibility Sad

Is there any way you could do a pizza making party at home? That way it's less hassle to cancel etc.

If you can do it at home I would. Highly recommend pizza express's pizza base recipe. Surprisingly easy to make.

I think Pizza express party is very simple to cancel!

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 16/12/2021 21:01

I’ve booked my DS a party for January. If it goes ahead then great, if it can’t then so be it but I don’t want him to miss out because I was too doom and gloom.

MissMinutes24 · 16/12/2021 21:10

Do it. Kids have missed out enough.

I think a restaurant party is likely to be cancelled by Jan.
