She talks to everyone and anyone

3.5 year old Dd. She actively stops people to talk to them about the Gruffalo or if she’s hurt her finger etc, if we’re on a walk.
People generally like it and it was funny/sweet at first, now I’m finding it a bit much, is it normal?

The other day my just turned 2yo shouted 'Hey man. What you doing man?!' to a poor bloke minding his business as he read his newspaper walking down the street. Really made me laugh Grin I don't think he even noticed! So I think she'll be the same by three!

My 5 year old thinks everyone is a potential friend and fancies a chat. Also likes to introduce me to random men (even if my husband is there). Helllooooo, this is my Mummy, she's 41.

Worried about what? It's perfectly normal behaviour.

Karmagoat · 15/12/2021 17:46

Normal, my Dd was exactly the same at that age, she's 15 now and could still talk the hind legs off a donkey Grin

I didn't want to scare the OP but I was like that at 3 and still notoriously talk to everyone now Grin

Very typical I'd say. Most people will find it endearing, unless they're a miserable bastard.

I was at a Country Park and the kids who go to the Forest Nursery which runs there happened to walk past and were very keen to show me (a total stranger) what treasures they had found on their walk. We had a very interesting conversation about what could have made holes in the leaves they had found. I love that age because they are so interested, enthusiastic and curious and keen on sharing their interests.

I adore children like this! I am bloody chatty and it makes my day when a child talks to me.

Everyone's different - dh is so quiet sometimes I check he's not slipped into a coma. 2 ds are like their Dad and youngest ds is like me. Talks all day long. We are a total embarrassment to the others but they need us even if they won't admit it 😂

WonderfulYou · 15/12/2021 18:24

My DD used to be like this but now she’s a teenager and only communicates in rare mumbles.
Enjoy it Smile

Ok, thanks everyone, bit relieved! Has just been a bit excessive recently, I don’t mind it at all, but am fairly awkward so don’t love having to politely interact with random strangers on our walks. Most do like it, just checking it wasn’t a little too much, she tends to stand in front of them if they’re walking and ask them if they know anything about The Gruffalo etc 🙈she also says ‘Hello man’ ‘Hello little lady’ and things like that as a pp says.
I worry a little about stranger danger but don’t want to discuss it yet and put a dampener on her open nature and innocence.
I had read it can be a sign of Adhd and recently she’s possibly shown some other signs. But it seems very normal
