I don't understand your post. Are you talking about starting a business?

RocketPanda · 15/12/2021 11:01

I don't understand your question. What plans have you got in place at the moment? What are you currently working at?

RocketPanda · 15/12/2021 11:02

Are you asking about MLM? Don't believe the Facebook posts, people lose far more money than they ever make.

GiltEdges · 15/12/2021 11:12

You've lost me Confused

PhoboPhobia · 15/12/2021 11:14

Do you mean an employed role or something you can do as self employed?

inloveagain2022 · 15/12/2021 11:14

Good luck...,

CheesyFootballsAreEvil · 15/12/2021 11:14

What skills do you have?
Please don't fall for an MLM

Exactly this. Don't do anything that requires you to pay to get started.

Have you set up a LinkedIn profile? There is an option on there to search for remote jobs.

Viviennemary · 15/12/2021 11:31

Are you asking for ideas on what kind of business to start.

RamblingFar · 15/12/2021 11:33

I set up an online teaching business last year. Didn't really require much up front investment. Took a few months to reach minimum wage salary level though.

Starting a business is no guarantee of success though, depends what your skills and interests are. Are their any services you could offer, that other people may want to buy?

AwkwardPaws27 · 15/12/2021 11:34

My husband and I both work from home but we work for an employer.

My friends who work for themselves mostly work out of home providing services (window cleaning, plumbing, repairing commercial catering ovens).

I'm not sure what business you could quickly set up to work from home - virtual EA or bookkeeping, maybe, if you have experience in a similar role?
What are your skills / interests?

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 15/12/2021 11:34

The most secure home working option if you need steady income would be to get an employed position working from home, something like call handling or admin.

Setting up your own business will usually cost money and then take time to turnaround a profit, plus you need to have a solid idea and plan for how you will achieve profitability which you don't seem to have.

BigYellowHat · 15/12/2021 11:37

Echoing the above. Steer clear of MLMs and setting up your own business will cost you money. There’s loads of employers offering home working so go for that.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 15/12/2021 11:38

You’re hoping to start working from home in a few weeks but you don’t know what you’re going to do? Confused

ErickBroch · 15/12/2021 11:57

Are you asking for things to buy to make WFH more enjoyable? If so, I bought a desk, painted my office, a new bookcase, and have a good notepad and pin board.

Eileen101 · 15/12/2021 12:01

You're unsure what?

You could either find an employed role where you'd be allowed to work from home - whether permanently or during the 'work from home' government orders.
Call centre work? Tele-sales? Virtual PA? You could review job vacancies for call centres or sales then narrow the field from there.
I work from home, but I'm employed by a company, who just allow this. It is of course, something that could be withdrawn at any time. I suspect they won't though because they use their 'family friendly' credentials to advertise. Maybe you could look up firms that advertise this? They might be more willing to negotiate terms with you.

Alternatively you could set up your own company. It would take a little while to get established.
What are your skills and qualifications?
Can you craft stuff to sell on Etsy?
Tutoring?
Something more manual? Cleaning? Window cleaning? Cleaning ovens? Dog walking? Ironing? General pet sitting? Granted it wouldn't be from home constantly - you'd have to go out, but I presume you mean work from home as opposed to being based in an office? Or do you mean literally not leaving the house?

Good luck though.

Just checking in to see if OP ever replied 🍿

HoseMeDownWithHolyWater · 16/12/2021 13:35

My husband started working for himself from home. It took about five years for him to start making serious money. It's not a quick-fix solution.

Stompythedinosaur · 16/12/2021 13:43

Do you have any skills to build on? I've got work marking and doing student support before, bit you need a relevent qualification and experience.

AwkwardPaws27 · 16/12/2021 16:54

@masterofdoomv1 if you give some more info we can try to help?
