Damaged shed - is this reasonable

We had some work done in our garden to-day and all overhanging tree braches heavily pruned back. In the process, the lid of our garden storage was damaged making it no longer watertight - it's about a year old, not sure this is relevant. We weren't aware of this but the person doing the work was honest and brought the matter to our attention. He has been back and filled the hole with expanding foam - this addresses the issue as a stop gap but a) looks ridiculous and b) surely can't be an acceptable resolution, can it?

The storage unit bought new costs around £300-£400. I've sent an email to their customer service team to see if we can get a replacement lid and am waiting on their reply and what cost that will be.
AIBU in insisting this cost is met/deducted from the cost of the work undertaken?

I'm not any good at confrontation so want to know if I'm being reasonable.

The person who did the job should have insurance for accidents like this.

They will have liability insurance just ask for their details and put a claim in.

When the foam has dried just cut it off and it will look fine.
