To ask you to suggest a new career for me?

Have been a paediatric speech therapist for years but (like lots of healthcare professionals at the mo) I’ve had enough and want to leave to do I don’t know what!

Love working with kids and in schools/ health/ community settings but hate the admin and politics that come with my current profession. Think teaching/ social work would be the same. Not sure TA would be enough money in the long run (could take a pay cut for a while but would need to be able to ‘move up the pay scale eventually). Any suggestions? Have been trawling job sites and nothing jumps out.
Am I destined to spend the next 20years writing bloody EHCP reports?

Careers Adviser? You would need to do a post grad qualification but you are in school, work directly with young people but relatively little paperwork

FE lecturer in a science or health science based subject?

Forest school leader?

Plenty of data science / coding jobs and training for them is often free or subsidised - look at Code First Girls

Careers adviser. Still get to work with young people but it's far less stressful!

I recently started the Think Ahead application process to become a mental health social worker (I had to leave as I am pg sadly they can't offer part time)

It's one year training, another year in supervised practice placement. Bursary for year one, salary year two (I believe). If you are a SALT then you meet their entry requirements, I am an ex RGN (2:1 etc). Brilliant opportunity...if you aren't pregnant!

Then you leave qualified to lead a team or go into a linked area of practice. The role sounds challenging and rewarding. Just an idea
