WFH calling in sick anxiety.

Currently WFH and have the most stinking cold that's going on to my chest, started Thursday. DH is stropping about the house downstairs at the minute because I kept him awake all night coughing and barking (even though I've caught it from him he's 2 days ahead of me though) I know it's early but really do not think I'll be well enough to sit at my desk and take call after call (customer service/contact centre) but have mega anxiety calling in sick. He's telling me I'll be fine tomorrow and I should just work through it but I really don't think I'll be 100%
It just feels like because I WFH I am not entitled to be sick, I have been unwell on a cpl of occasions since I started WFH at beginning of pandemic and just dragged my ass and cracked on but today I feel like I need a good 2/3 days in bed to recuperate.

I know what you mean - you don't think you can be sick - because well you can make yourself comfier at home than at work - but if you're sick you're sick. You will recover much better being free to sleep, watch crap tv and generally mope, than forcing yourself to either work from bed, or at a desk - hunched over and trying to best put on your customer service smiley voice, and think clearly.

Of course - see how you feel in the morning - but don't feel bad about calling in. Do you have video calls - NOT saying you should or have to - but would it ease your anxiety if you called that way so they can see how sick you are?

I think we all feel like this when we call in sick but when our colleagues do we just hope they feel better soon and think no more about it
Honestly see how you feel and do what you think, not what your husband thinks

I completely understand OP. I WFH and just had a period of sick due to the cold from hell. I felt rotten and definitely couldn’t have worked but felt guilty being off as I’m at home but I am glad I took the time off.
