Christmas with elderly ill parents - am I being over the top?

Hello
I work in a school and have done throughout the pandemic. I’ve kept to rules but when allowed I’ve made the most of life and gone to concerts, theatres etc etc. My kids have have Covid, my husband and I are tipple vaccinated and test regularly and to our knowledge have not.

My parents are in their late 70’s and both have medical problems. My mother nearly died two years ago due to heart problems and it is quite frankly a miracle she’s still here!

My sister and her family are planning on staying with them over the Christmas period and the adults are double vacced. Not sure if they will have had boosters by then. They will be going to parties/theatre in the days leading up to going which is fine but I don’t trust them to test themselves or their chidlren whilst saying with my parents.

I don’t want to go up there and risk passing anything to my parents. They already panic about being around people exposed to Covid and with my job I’m around it all the time!

Am I being overly anxious to suggest we don’t go?

What do your parents want? I'd be guided by them. They may not want to miss a Christmas with you

When do you break up?
Can you isolate / severely limit activities between break up and visiting?

My plan with my DPs is to wait to visit until DD has been out of college for 10 days.

Yes i would go - given all the precautions I don't think you pose additional risk to your parents.

It sounds like your DS & family are the potential "risk" factor (and that sounds sound excessive) they will be there whether you go or not.
