Coke in Houses of Parliament?

inloveagain2022 · 09/12/2021 11:31

My dh has just been telling me they found traces of cocaine in over 70% of the toilets and that one MP had a drug dealer on his payroll and that another IS a drug dealer. I've just put the news on but it's all about this fine the Tories have just received. I've been avoiding the news for a while.... AIBU to ask if he is winding me up??!

Planted??
They're human beings, anyone who believes MPs are whiter than white at this point is deluded.

3WildOnes · 09/12/2021 13:02

I think traces of cocaine were found in all but one toilet that they tested. Found in the toilet closest to Boris s office too. Not really surprising, lots of MPs seem like the type.

inloveagain2022 · 09/12/2021 13:13

@AtLeastThreeDrinks

Are you really surprised it’s not headline news? Our right-wing media supports the Tory government. They get away with so much shit that isn’t reported, that a labour government would be hung out to dry for.

Have you seen the videos of Michael Gove doing the rounds? He looks drunk/coked up standing in parliament. I’d bet my house of most of them doing it at parties. Most people I know living/working in London have done it at some point. Many are addicted but because it’s a “social” drug it’s somehow seen as acceptable.

No I haven't seen the videos, but I had heard he was a bit dodgy. I suppose I'm being naive to think they'd at least wait until after work before getting off their faces.

The PM is regularly off his tits in public so I can't see why this would be any kind of surprise.

Beautiful3 · 09/12/2021 13:25

They need random drug tests.

SilverHairedCat · 09/12/2021 13:32

I'll eat my hat if it's a plant. Not a chance. People use drugs in all walks of life. MPs often think they are above the law and this is a prime example of their behaviour. Plus their aides, general staff etc.

baroqueandblue · 09/12/2021 13:54

How many people work in parliament? Thousands I expect.

And a fair percentage of those are hypocritical, coke-addled Tory MPs. It was obvious at PMQs for years that George Osborne was completely off his tits, for example.

Suzanne999 · 09/12/2021 13:59

Doesn’t surprise me one iota.
The H of P are just their social networking ground. Every MP seems determined to just make as much money as they can for themselves. The number of MPs who genuinely care about the population of this country could probably be counted in single figures, I think you’d struggle to get as high as 9 though.
They are a self indulgent, privileged bunch of overgrown yuppies. I’m embarrassed to be British.

LittleGwyneth · 09/12/2021 14:03

Every single high earner I know living in central London either does coke, or did it when they were younger.

As that famous saying goes (which i love)

The last person to enter the House Of Commons with honest intentions was Guy Fawkes.

poshme · 09/12/2021 14:08

According to an FOI, on 1st January 2020 there were 18, 908 people who had passes to work/be on the parliamentary estate.

So MPs make up 3% of the people there.

Lots of journalists around parliament all the time. I'm not surprised they found traces of cocaine in parliament.

fournonblondes · 09/12/2021 14:11

Sure, It has to be Boris he must go 🙄

Dominic Cummings will come along soon to let us know the specifics. With video to follow. It must be exhausting trying to topple the PM.

What a dumb comment. Really? Ffs

So there is only one political party using the Houses of Parliament. News to me. Ffs it must be the Tories again.

You see I would not know unless I take it myself.
luverlybubberly · 09/12/2021 14:21

The toilets in media buildings will probably be the same and have plenty of cocaine traces.

EmmaWoodhousestreehouse · 09/12/2021 14:25

This has been doing the rounds for years. I would be at all surprised if there were traces of coke there and it won’t have been planted.

Alltheblue · 09/12/2021 14:25

My dh told me this too.

Oh absolutely. But we vainly hope for a better standard of behaviour from our politicans, don't we?
Cherrytart23 · 09/12/2021 14:28

Yes absolutely this the government always go by the book don't they.

Hi Carrie 😁
the80sweregreat · 09/12/2021 14:37

The worst place to find traces of illegal drugs is the toilets in any service station on the motorways. That scares me more than it being in the HoP to be honest :(

girlmom21 · 09/12/2021 14:42

They'll probably find cocaine in 70% of toilets at your workplace too. I was shocked when I realised how many adults do coke.

girlmom21 · 09/12/2021 14:43

Oh absolutely. But we vainly hope for a better standard of behaviour from our politicans, don't we?

I could imagine them citing extreme stress and long working hours as their reasoning if someone specific was caught.

BarefootHippieChick · 09/12/2021 14:49

London is rife with coke users, but especially anyone working in finance, politics, journalism, fashion and entertainment. The kind of careers where people work 70 hour weeks and are still expected to socialise every other night.
