It really does mean a lot to be acknowledged and you might be surprised at the number of parents who don’t/don’t encourage their children too!

Merry Christmas! Xmas Smile

I've just bought cards and gifts for my DC's girl guides leader and my ds football coach. They are all volunteers and I'm so grateful to them for what they do.

We have our Xmas festivities starting this week. Painting/glazing mugs and singing around a fake campfire - it’s flooded so no outdoor ones! Next week is our Christmas party - excited to eat too many sweets with the kids to be honest! Leaders really do enjoy what we do and it’s nice to be appreciated but if you can’t afford gifts don’t feel bad a happy Christmas is more than enough !!

Oh this has just hit a nerve! Ive been a Brownie leader for over ten years now, very few people ever say thank you or Merry Christmas. We had a girl leave this week after nearly 4 years at Brownies and her parents left without a word, not even a goodbye. The Brownie said thank you though, bless her.
It's why our unit will be closing in July unless someone will take it over, unlikely though. Our own girls left years ago and its the lack of appreciation, (just a simple thank you will do) and often rudeness from parents that has gradually worn the leaders down.

Should have made it clear, we dont want gifts or even cards although ones the girls make themselves are always lovely. Just a thank you is fine!
