My son is a bookworm; he has always loved books and for an 11 year old boy, that's just great as I'm sure you will agree. He's a very responsible lad and I've always allowed him to search and buy books (with permission and using my phone) for his kindle. At least that's what used to happen until up onto my browsing history pops up some very-exciting-for-a-boy-of-11 books aimed at a rather more mature clientele... the same book multiple times!! (Maybe other 'multiple stuff' was going on between the sheets/pages...) Do you think that I am unreasonable to think that there are certain books advertised which should only be available to investigate by signing in again?

Whilst I'm appalled with Amazon, I still secretly admire my son's initiative to broaden his education - especially as this illicit enterprise went straight on to my 'recently browsed' and 'you may be interested in this'.

No, Amazon don't need to restrict the advertising of their books to protect your 11 year old from seeing them. It's up to you to monitor and take responsibility for your child's internet use and safety.

Amazon's terms and conditions specifically state that it is for adults and under 18s should only use it with a parent or guardian involved. If you are ignoring that rule and letting him use your account which is registered to an adult then you are still responsible for what he accesses.

Amazon shouldn't restrict what is available to adults just because you allow your son to break the rules and fail to supervise his browsing.

Great click bait title
👍😂

The setting, and purchase history will profile you as the adult and prompt adult books and "adult" books.
Other wise with just his history it's likely to prompt young adult books.

Same deal across any app that is tracking and profiling you.
