To be really annoyed

On Monday I made a Yule log my favourite cake. He’s had 2 and a bit slices since and I’ve practically eaten all of it. I make it once a year really and being the week of my period have been craving it like mad. Have had an awful week with endometriosis pain and an extra long day at work today too so was really craving a slice. On the way home I stopped to get bread and milk and didn’t get any treats as I had Yule log at home. Only gone to get some and he’s binned the log he claimed we didn’t need it he’s eaten way too much of it the cake. he’s apologised for binning it but only after I got annoyed I’m currently crying in bed from the pain having taken some morphine craving this log Xmas Grin

Wtaf?? He binned it because he’d had enough??

LTB!! 😱

Chloemol · 08/12/2021 23:36

I would make another and give him none

MMMarmite · 08/12/2021 23:59

What the fuck? You can't bin someone else's cake because you have had enough of it yourself.

Is he normally like this?

whynotwhatknot · 08/12/2021 23:59

who throws away homemade cake?

whynotwhatknot · 09/12/2021 00:00

sorry any cake and why is it up to hm to decide youve had enough

Pensieve · 09/12/2021 00:08

Sorry OP that’s a borderline unforgivable sin.

You find out who people really are when there’s spare cake around - scoffers, binners, abstainers and sharers - ranked worst to best in my view.

Puddstalk · 09/12/2021 00:15

If my DH binned a lovely cake he would be under the patio - I feel your pain - will wear black tomorrow in sympathy.

41sunnydays · 09/12/2021 00:21

Not helpful but your tule log looks amazing- can you share the recipe ?

BrightonOrLancaster · 09/12/2021 00:22

I dont know if I'm just being humourless tonight but this isnt amusing at all IMO. I think it's a really nasty thing to do. And disrespectful.

Ihaveamagicwand · 09/12/2021 00:32

If he's making you another one, I'd cut it into 'me' sized pieces and freeze it. Then you can take one slice out at a time! He won't want any more as he's eaten too much already! I'd also do it for future years, no way would I be leaving something looking that delicious where he can help himself.

Cheerbear24 · 09/12/2021 00:40

I’m admiring your restraint in not getting it out of the bin tbh!
What was he thinking throwing a perfectly lovely Yule log away though!?! Have a word.

Samanabanana · 09/12/2021 01:31

I don't think this is funny at all tbh. He ate too much of your lovely homemade cake so he decided to throw it away so neither of you could eat it? Confused Who does that?

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 09/12/2021 07:26

I have to agree that I don’t find it funny in the slightest. All that work you put in. It’s very unreasonable of him to take a unilateral decision to throw out a still edible cake just because HE’s had enough. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but I would find that a bit concerning. He took control over the fate of your cake, which you created, away from you.

Anyway, your Yule log was spectacular and I would like some posted to me the next time you make one!

Gravychicken · 09/12/2021 07:35

Thank you he massively apologised he’s never done anything like this before we had both been discussing healthy eating and both of us going back to the gym the day before so while making room In the fridge for the food delivery he just got rid of the cake. At the time he thought he was doing me a favour as I was eating the cake constantly and kept mentioning getting back to healthy eating. It’s also a massive one off behaviour wise for him I mean I kept re heating my heat pack last night and permanently rubbed my back while he was trying to sleep

Thats a lot of excuses you've found for him. Hormonal, it was the morphine, we were supposed to be on a health kick anyway...

FlickyCrumble · 09/12/2021 09:02

He binned a cake??? The planet needs saving - put it in the freezer for christmas day!! to late now obvs.

Gravychicken · 09/12/2021 20:34

@BrightonOrLancaster there not excuses for him there reasons for me crying over a cake he knows he’s been an ass he’s Apologised brought me treats and apologised again. It was a stupid mistake on his behalf one he won’t be making again
