To ask what's the best platform for an online charity fundraiser?

Shamelessly posting here for traffic as we want to get this organised asap in time for Christmas.

We want to organise a raffle with proceeds going to charity, but we want as much of the donations as possible to go to the charity and a lot of the big platforms seem to take a transaction fee. Is there any that are free or very low?

We originally had the idea to let people vote for the charity they wanted out of a possible three (similar to Tesco tokens) and give it to the charity with the most votes at the end, but this seems too complicated/not possible if we're taking online donations.

There are different rules about raffles - if you are running a raffle "in the room" as it were it doesn't need a licence but if you are going to start selling tickets to the public then you do.

Who are 'we' ?

I mean, as in your company that you work for, or a charity, or are you just meaning you and your partner or friend or something?

Are you talking about a scenario where you have something to give away , so are thinking 'lets do a raffle and raise a bit for a good cause' or are you raffling a house ?

I think all these things make a difference.

Oh god. Can of worms. It's only a hamper, definitely not a house! But we need to be able to sell tickets online as it'll be sent to the winner direct from the supplier, and people who might want to enter are in different locations so not "in the room". The "we" is me and my husband.

I vaguely remember there being some palaver about licences when the PTA were looking to sell tickets online (due to covid/minimising contact) but they got around it or found out that they didn't need one.
