To think this is a GDPR breach and say something?

Dispensary is in the waiting room of the gp surgrry.
Pharmacist asks for my full (very unusual) name . Fine i say it out loud in the pin drop waiting room with 6 people waiting.
Then - full address. Okay, i dont feel comfortable but say the full address.
Then she is holding my prescription at which point i have to give the full name!
Again in full audibility of those in the waiting room, receiption staff and dispensary queue.
Surely that's not right?

The full name of the well known medicine, for an embarrassing complaint

Do you mean they asked you to say the name of the medicine (or they said it)? If so, that is not acceptable.

Name and address is common practice.

Ouch I feel your pain.

That's weird - all pharmacies ask for name and address, but never been asked for the medication name. I wouldn't always know it - a form of antibiotic, perhaps but not specific type eg

Not sure there's a gdpr issue though

I think nobody cares about GDPR since Covid! Virtually everything about working from home for most people (certainly for myself) was a GDPR breach.

Not sure this qualifies as a GDPR issue, but you can certainly be justified in complaining that it was insensitive and inappropriate!

At our dispensary, they say your surname and initial, then ask you to say what the initial stands for and the first line of your address. They shouldn't be asking you to say when the prescription is for! not least because it may have a complex name or you may not known, if the GP just said "an antibiotic". I'd complain about that; I know you're not on methodone but even so, your medical history should be confidential.

You don't need to throw GDPR at them, just write to the practice manager and outline your concern. They ought to have a facility for a private conversation near to the open area where you were, and the staff should be trained to make use of it when having this sort of conversation.
Feel your pain, definitely say something!
Hopefully no one you knew was in the waiting area!!
