Bring toddler with me for covid booster?

This is a boring AIBU but I've been trying to phone my GP and no answer. I have been scheduled for my booster jab tomorrow about a half hour after my daughter has a hospital appointment. I've been trying to phone and reschedule my booster but no answer. The place where I get my booster is near the hospital my daughter is attending. I'm tempted now to rock up with toddler in tow for my booster possibly slightly late too. FWIW I have phoned my GP 17 times Friday and thus morning no answer.

I’d take her. I know other people who have.

thesockfairydidit · 06/12/2021 10:04

Can you pop her in pushchair they won’t mind that

ChangeChingyChange · 06/12/2021 10:06

Yeah just go, you're there for about 2 minutes so it's fine.

LakeShoreD · 06/12/2021 10:06

Take her but definitely bring the pram so she’s contained.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 06/12/2021 10:07

When I had my second jab loads of women had babies, toddlers and children with them. (School holidays)

TheFlis12345 · 06/12/2021 10:08

When I went for mine I was amazed about the number of teenagers who had their mum with them! Sure they won’t be able to object to you bribing a toddler.

TheFlis12345 · 06/12/2021 10:09

*bringing! (Though bribery may also be needed Grin)

When I took Ds for his vaccine on Sunday a fair few people had toddlers with them.

There was a long queue when we went tjough so beware of times

SwanMother · 06/12/2021 10:11

Me, dp and toddler all went together for our jabs, even though we booked them separately so one could wait outside with dd. They told us it saves appointment times so yeah it's fine.

We were all made to sit for 15 mins afterwards.
First time i just walked ouy ( 1st jab) but with the booster I used it as an excuse to MN before going back to work!)🤣

Woofins · 06/12/2021 10:17

Haha brilliant will do that so!!! Will bring snacks and what not to keep her contained

It’s fine
Had both mine in the summer when Ds was 13-15 months. He just sat on my lap and toddled around.
There were loads of children there.

Good point. I suppose you can choose to ignore that rule if you're toddler is kicking off but fingers crossed that won't happen!
bloodywhitecat · 06/12/2021 10:20

DH and I turned up with our toddler in a buggy and the baby in a sling, we expected one of us to wait outside with the children while the other was vaccinated and booked accordingly but we were all ushered through at the same time and had our vaccines together. I would take her.

Chasingaftermidnight · 06/12/2021 10:25

I’d take her, I don’t think they’ll mind and it’s really important that you get your booster!

(Are jabs scheduled through your GP in your area? In our area they’re booked through a totally separate service.)

Jibberjabberhutt · 06/12/2021 10:31

I had to take my baby. I had no choice. He was good as gold, my nurse was delighted to see him and I just made sure he didn’t disturb anyone when I waited my 15 minutes. It can’t be avoided. You getting your booster is the most important thing.

SleepingStandingUp · 06/12/2021 10:32

You've got a 10 minute wait afterwards so as long as she's contained and fairly quiet I can't see an issue

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 06/12/2021 10:34

Lots of people did when I went. But I agree with pps - in the buggy/ pushchair so she’s not getting in anyone’s way.

Also they were doing walkins when I went, so I’m sure you’re fine a little late. They want as many people as possible jabbed!

MrsMiddleMother · 06/12/2021 10:46

I took my toddler with me for both of my covid jabs, just popped him in his pushchair and made sure he had snacks mostly for the 15 min wait after x

Cookerhood · 06/12/2021 10:51

Of course you can take her,I usually give them a sticker! We have whole families (often 3 generations) rocking up.

VapeVamp12 · 06/12/2021 11:03

I had my 2 yr old with me when I went on Saturday. He was in his pushchair and they gave him a sticker lol
