Unexpectedly I don't have to start work until 3pm today.
I was expecting to start at 8.30 so this is a nice surprise. I don't want to waste it by sitting around the house doing nothing.
What would you do with your day?

Walk?
Christmas shopping?
Catch up on films or books?
Swim, gym?
Run ?

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 06/12/2021 07:08

Run then some yoga, then watch a film

Etinoxaurus · 06/12/2021 07:09

Do you have to get up with dcs? If not enjoy a lie in.
I don’t have to get up for an hour and I’m loving that quiet time in bed with a hwb. I’ll have a bit of free time today (lunch!) and I’m going to morrisons for a leg of lamb to put in the freezer and primark for £20 of scented candles, they’re like fresh and lots guy scented and very cheap. Other random free time I’ve recently savoured included making a christmas pudding and having a pedicure. Do you have time to detour anyway for a bracing walk? Flowers enjoy.

I'd go back to bed til the sun came up. Then go for a swim then a little walk through the park if it was sunny then back home to catch up on the mountains of housework that are piling up.

PrincessConsuelaBanana · 06/12/2021 07:15

I’d go out for breakfast, a walk and a massage. Awww I wish I had the morning off now! Enjoy whatever you do Smile

JuneOsborne · 06/12/2021 07:16

I'd start wrapping!

PrincessConsuelaBanana · 06/12/2021 07:16

Or I’d stay in bed binge watching MAFSA and eating the selection boxes I’ve bought the kids for Christmas!

I've just refilled my hwb and it's so lovely snuggling back down in the warmth, I'll probably back to sleep until 8.30/9. DD's school is still closed due to damage from Storm Arwen and our broadband still isn't working so she can't do her schoolwork - we're hoping broadband will be back later this morning (DD isn't but DH and I need to work!)!

I don't work on Mondays but usually still have to get up to get DD ready and take to school so this is a lovely bonus lie in.

If I didn't have DD, I'd probably have a nice bath when I got up, leisurely breakfast, write some Christmas cards, go for a walk, maybe make our Christmas cake.

Enjoy your day, OP!

I’d go for a swim, then go to a nice cafe for breakfast and read my book, then probably go home and do a nice sorting job that I’d never usually get round to doing. If there was time in there I’d have a long call with a friend/family member.

Mother87 · 06/12/2021 07:41

I'd be finding a film at the cinema & taking a picnic & kicking off my shoes...Grin

Egghead68 · 06/12/2021 07:43

Go for a long walk with a cafe stop in the middle

FrenchBoule · 06/12/2021 07:55

Relax.
Whatever it means for you.

billy1966 · 06/12/2021 09:23

I'd use it to get organised for Christmas.

Normally I would go back to bed with a bucket of coffee and enjoy the peace.

Dietpepsiandshirley · 06/12/2021 09:34

I’d go to the cinema

gannett · 06/12/2021 10:05

In this weather I would absolutely waste it sitting in the house.

I'd do something drawn-out and time-consuming that you enjoy that you can't normally fit in. A long film or a long book to get lost in.
