Safe to put my dressing gown in 12mo cot?

My just turned 1yo is generally a poor sleeper, but the past couple of nights he's been up every 45 minutes. Tonight I've already been in 7 times. He just wants held, I gave him a feed at 10 so he's not hungry. I'm wondering if it would be safe to put my dressing gown (with cord removed) in the cot with him incase that helps him sleep?
Some websites I've read said 12 months is fine for soft toys and other bedding / pillows but others said 18 months.
I don't want / need tips on his sleep in general or to be told to co-sleep. I guarantee I've read everything there is to read about infant sleep, my older son is an excellent sleeper and has been since he was a baby and co-sleeping is not something we want to do.

Can you not put a Muslim down your top for a while? That would transfer your scent.
Be sure to ask their permission first though. Grin

Don't cut your dressing gown, your scent will wear off!

I agree with a pp, use a t-shirt that you wear.

You can use a worn pyjama top or nightie as a cot sheet. Litterally slide it over the cot mattress - probably you’d still want the normal sheet there too. Then his cot will smell of you.

I’ve done it. I tucked the arms and the excess under the mattress so it was like a sheet.

it didn’t work though Xmas Angry
