To ask how you would interpret this Black Friday hairdresser offer?

"For a limited time only we're giving you £10 off every booking. This offer is valid from Friday 26th to Monday 29th November 2021. Get a new look this winter."

Would you assume that it meant only appointments for literally between and including those dates or that it applies to bookings made for future appointments too - as long as you book in that time frame?

Just trying to see if I mis/understood?

It includes the dates 26th - 29th inclusive and nothing beyond.

steff13 · 05/12/2021 14:30

I think the appointment had to be in the stated timeframe, not just scheduled during that timeframe.

Sparklesocks · 05/12/2021 14:31

Appointments which take place between those dates rather than future appointments.

LittleOwl153 · 05/12/2021 14:31

I would hope it was bookings made in that window - but I would check on making such a booking that it applied if appointment was outside the window. Seems a bit if an odd offer if it was made on black Friday as presumably they had a full diary for that day anyway unless they usually take alot of walk ins...

MyDcAreMarvel · 05/12/2021 14:31

Just the dates in the time frame. They wouldn’t discount December.

Josette77 · 05/12/2021 14:31

Must have an appointment during that time frame.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 05/12/2021 14:32

Appointments within stated time frame for me also.

Groovee · 05/12/2021 14:33

Appointments on those dates.

isthismylifenow · 05/12/2021 14:33

As it says. From the 26th to the 29th.

I don't see how that can be misconstrued tbh.

Peachgreen · 05/12/2021 14:34

Yup, appointments between those dates only.

TidyDancer · 05/12/2021 14:34

I would assume it was for appointments only between those dates. I can see how it could be misinterpreted though.

That said, I bought a birthday cake for one of the DCs to be delivered during December using a Black Friday 20% off code and that was accepted so I guess companies do apply this sort of thing differently.

Nonnymum · 05/12/2021 14:35

For appointments taking place between those dates only. Not for appointments T
that take place later even if made on those dates

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 05/12/2021 14:36

The kicker for me is ‘get a new look THIS winter’.

If you booked an appt for next March, June and September hoping for the £10 off each appt, it wouldn’t be a new look for this winter.

SoupDragon · 05/12/2021 14:39

I also think it was only for appointments attended between those dates.

MagentaRocks · 05/12/2021 14:39

Appointments on those dates only.

Elieza · 05/12/2021 14:40

Appointments during the specified dates only.

Probably to get more business before the December rush starts.

My salon is still limiting numbers per day so lots of customers will be disappointed at finding the salon is fully booked and they can’t get their hair done prior to Christmas.

Sensible though. Who wants covid as a Christmas present.

PennyFarting · 05/12/2021 14:40

Appointments booked and taken within that window.

Riverlee · 05/12/2021 14:44

I’m presuming someone has misconstrued the offer, interpreting it that the booking needs to be made during this timeframe, but the actual appointment could be later.

If it were a one-off, I would let it go (for customer relations). However, if the same person had made several bookings using this version of the offer, or several people had misread it, then not.

FitAt50 · 05/12/2021 14:45

Its written very poorly. I would have assumed it meant if I booked an appointment anytime in the future - but i called up during those dates, I would get £10 off. Why would they say "For a limited time only" and then give you only 4 days. How many people book at such short notice and how many free appointments would they have in the 4 days - also assuming they are closed on Sundays.

Werehamster · 05/12/2021 14:47

I would assume the actual appointment needs to be between those dates.

sparklefarts · 05/12/2021 14:47

I would assume the discount applies to appointments held during that time.

ilikeice · 05/12/2021 14:52

Between and including those dates

VladmirsPoutine · 05/12/2021 14:52

Ok. Thanks for the responses. I had assumed that it meant appointments made in that window but for a future appointment.

Idontevenknow · 05/12/2021 14:52

It's not written the best but I agree with others, appointments within those dates only.

Thwackit · 05/12/2021 15:42

I’d also think it was appointments attended within that window. What they are trying to do is space out appointments because lots of people book in the first three weeks of December for Christmas parties etc, and the end of November can be a bit thin on bookings as a result. If they did the offer the way you’ve suggested, people could easily book for eight weeks away and the salon wouldn’t get the money they want now.
